“Well, I swear that I won't be doing this no more! It's much worse than a menstrual cramp!"

"You can scream it out loud if you want to. I don't mind..."

The conversation that came from the office had sent Kaiden into silence.

It just happened that Kaiden had overheard their conversation since he came directly after being summoned by Amelia. Overhearing Audrey's grumble alongside with Amelia's comfort words, he was led to believe that something was ongoing between them. He began to cast a doubt on Amelia's sexuality. Otherwise, it made no sense that why Amelia was unmoved by his charm all this while.

But she was straight. Or why would she ever get married to Patrick and even more, let him impregnated her?

Another possibility that Kaiden came up with was, the divorce between Amelia and Patrick marked the turning point in her life which led her into fantasizing women since then.

Just as Kaiden was convinced with his reasoning, he began to approach the two of them. It was only then he realized that Amelia was applying ointment on Audrey's bruise.

She probably had inflicted too much force which caused Audrey to moan in pain.

Kaiden heaved a sigh in relief at the sight of this. It turned out that he had been guessing in a completely wrong direction.

All in a sudden, Audrey sensed that there was someone towering. She could not help but glance up. It was only then, she saw Kaiden standing outside of the office with a smirk across his face.

In the next second, she shouted out vindictively, "President Ramsay! He's here!"

Amelia paused the movement of her hand and looked up at Kaiden.

Kaiden's expression changed in an instant as soon as he met her gaze.

What appeared to Audrey was that Kaiden was no different from a desperate wolf which was eyeing at its prey with its penetrative gaze. Anyone could have told from his eyes that he was feverishly crushing on Amelia.

Amelia had no intention to beat around the bush. She pointed at the bruises scattering on Audrey's arm as she questioned, "Kaiden, is it true that

you're the one who bruised Audrey?"

Kaiden swept a glance at the direction that she was pointing. He suddenly thought of him pushing Audrey when he was in a hurry to go after Amelia, he admitted, "I think so."

"What do you mean? It's certain of a fact that you're the one who bruised me!" Audrey frowned and felt that he was trying to evade his responsibility for what he had done judging from the uncertainty in his tone.

Audrey's make-up was smeared as a result of sobbing earlier. At the sight of of her face, Kaiden sneered, "Am I denying it now? You're already so horribly looking, I will advise you not to have your face crumpled in anger. I can assure you that you look so much uglier now!"

"I'll kill you!" Audrey picked up the complimentary toy of Mcdonald's which was on the table. With her eyes reddened in rage, she threw it at Kaiden with all her strength!

Kaiden could have dodged away from the toy that she used as a weapon. However, as soon as he saw the bruises on Audrey's arm, he changed his mind and decided not to move away.

He had to admit that the bruises on her arm looked pretty bad. If hitting him with a toy was the only way for her to vent her anger, he did not mind to accept it as a mean of his apology. After all, the toy was so miniature that he would not feel pain at all for being struck.

Hence, he stood right there and let the toy fell onto his body as Audrey wished. However, the indifferent look of him triggered her more instead. She came over to Amelia and began grumbling, "President Ramsay! You've seen it on your own! He wasn't regretting for what he had done!"

"Well, let me reprimand him for this." Audrey was the injured victim after all. Amelia felt obliged to take care of her feeling and speak for her.

Unexpectedly, Kaiden scoffed in the next second, "Ha! All you know is to cry and make complaints! You're no different from a kid in school!"

His sarcasm managed to make her explode in fury.

Amelia could not help but furrow. She thought that it was time to correct Kaiden's offensive behavior.

"Kaiden, why must you be so mean when you talk? You're behaving exactly like a sissy!"

Despite saying so, there was no trace of sorrow that could be found on Audrey's face. Instead, she was triumphed at the sight of the damaged toy. She held Amelia's arm delightedly as she exclaimed, "President Ramsay! Did you see what he had just done? I know you saw it. You're my witness now!"

At this moment, Amelia was led to believe that the two of them were rivals to each other during their past lives. That was why they were destined to look for each other's troubles.

Kaiden just wanted to bring the drama to an end. He cut her short, "How much does your minion toy worth? I'll pay you ten times more than its value.

Go and get yourself another new one!"

"I've told you that it's a limited edition toy that is priceless! I won't accept either even if you were to offer me an amount twenty times more! I don't care how you are going to get it for me, but I'm making myself clear that I want only the exact same one that you had damaged!"

"Ha, hag! You're not worth for me to trouble all the way and get what you want for you. Since you're the one who turned down my offer, I'm glad that I can save it up for myself!"

"You!" Glaring at him ferociously, Audrey knew that she could not make him compromise.

There was no way that Kaiden was going to be threatened or moved or to pity her. After all, Amelia was the only person that he would listen to.

Realizing that Audrey was at the verge of another anger outburst, Amelia hushed, "Kaiden, apologize and compensate her."

Kaiden remained silent for a moment as he pondered. It was only then he said, "Fine, Respected Miss. Atkinson. I'm hereby apologizing to you formally. I shouldn't have pushed you when you came in my way all in a sudden and stopped me. That was why you fell down vulnerably although I wouldn't have expected that at all judging from your plump body size. The worst thing I had done was that I shouldn't have left you on the floor at that time. I was supposed to check on your breath just to make sure whether I need to call the authority for an autopsy. You might even need me to arrange a funeral for you..."

As the corner of her mouth twitched, Amelia was trying so hard to contain her laughter. Eventually, she turned away before she burst out laughing uncontrollably.

Audrey was undoubtedly unmoved by his apology. With the wrath boiling underneath her, she growled, "Autopsy? Funeral? How dare you curse me to death, b*stard! I'm going to kill you now!"

With that said, Audrey pushed open the office door and began to throw punches at Kaiden.
