Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1239

Amelia sneaked a glance at Kayla when she passed by The Elliot Family. Through the look of Kayla who were holding the hands of her parents, Amelia could tell that she was surrounded by positive vibes which made her grew up into such a lively and cheerful girl.

It was no doubt but Amelia had to admit that Kayla was fortunate to have such a lovely family. She could not help but wonder if she could own a family like The Elliot in the future.

When Eve saw Amelia that was about to leave, she immediately said, "Patrick, I know you're a kind-hearted person. But, look how she is totally fine without you. There's no need for you to worry about her. Hurry up and follow me to greet Mr. Elliott and his family. Promise me that you're going to do this for the sake of your Gramps, all right?"

Her last sentence was almost inaudible as it was only meant for Patrick to listen.

However, Patrick stared at Amelia's back as she left. Apart from the cold treatment he had been giving to the Elliott Family all this while, he replied with his voice that was loud enough for everyone at the scene to hear him, "Got it, Mom! I'll accompany Kayla and her parents back to the table now!"

Amelia who was just a few feet ahead from the crowd overheard Patrick's words. She felt helpless as her heart sank.

Audrey was quick to notice that Amelia started to lost her balance as she walked. She hurriedly asked, "President Ramsay, are you all right?"

Amelia pulled herself together before she hushed, "I'm fine." She paced up as she left in an attempt to stay as far away as possible from Patrick.

It seemed to her that this was the only way to protect her feelings from being affected by Patrick.

After the entire chaos, Jonathan was the one who drove Amelia back to the Ramsay's Mansion. Despite feeling a surge of discomfort, Amelia forced a smile on her face as she said, "Safe drive, Uncle Tucker."

Jonathan gave her a tiny nod before he said, "President Ramsay, please get some early rest. We shall discuss about our next move regarding of what happened today when we're back at the office tomorrow."

"All right." As Jonathan drove off, Amelia turned around in an attempt to ring the doorbell.

It was at this moment that she heard a loud but brief honk from her back.

She could not help but to glance at her back subconsciously. She could barely see a car being pulled over in the dark judging from the front part of the car. Under the street lightings, the license plate was visible.

As Amelia squinted her eyes, she began to recognize that it was her Audi QQ that was being parked over there in a corner. Hence, it was obvious that the honking sound earlier must have came from her own car.

She went forward until she found herself near to the driver seat before she knocked on the window.

It was only then the person sitting on the driver seat wound down the window gradually.

When Kaiden finally revealed his face from the window, he frowned and grumbled, "Where the h*l did you go? I nearly thought that you must have forgotten your way home!"

Amelia responded his question with silence as she did not want to recall what had happened earlier.

"Say something! Aren't you a smart-mouthed woman?"

Kaiden was deeply annoyed when he first saw her. Upon closer inspection of her expression, he could not help feeling anxious as he could tell something was off. He hushed, "What's wrong? Why did you end up like this?"

With her hands gripping onto the window, she leaned forward and asked, "Forget about it. Are you here to return my car to me?"

Kaiden could tell that her voice was strained. As soon as she leaned forward, he noticed that her face was as pale as a sheet and her eyes were swollen. At the sight of this, Kaiden's heart sank in melancholy.

At that moment, the anger that he had been accumulating after spending almost a day's time waiting for her vanished right away.

He waved his hand in gesture for Amelia to step back before he got down from the car without hesitation.

It was only then Kaiden realized that she seemed completely lost and vulnerable. He could smell alcohol from where he stood.

"Hold on! Alcohol?

At the sight of this, Amelia fell back into dejection. After all, she was so close to getting the key back. She could not help but to stomp her feet on Kaiden's feet as she bawled, "Kaiden, you're such a b*stard! You promised me before that you're going to protect me and my child! But all you do is to

trigger us! B*stard!"

Amelia continued to swear at him before she squat down with her handbag on her laps. In the next second, she buried her head deep in between her legs as she began sobbing.

With the entire scene before Kaiden's eyes, he hurriedly squatted down to check on her concerningly, "Are you crying?"

Amelia chose to ignore his question as she turned to have her back against him and continued sobbing.

It was only then Kaiden realized that he had asked the obvious. He scolded himself in frustration before he struggled to stuff the car key into her clenched fist. He then comforted her clumsily, "Hey you, don't cry. Look, I've already returned your car key to you..."

In the next second, Kaiden saw the car key falling onto the ground from the grip of her hand.

At first, Kaiden thought that she must had accidentally drop the car keys since she didn't hold it tight in her grips. He hurriedly picked it up from the ground and wiped it clean with his blazer before he put it back into her hands again.

Again, he saw Amelia releasing the grip of her hand. Consequently, the car key fell back onto the ground. There was no doubt that it was covered with dirt again.

Kaiden finally came to understand that Amelia had dropped the key on purpose. Staring at her head which was being buried deep down still, he said exasperatedly, "Fine, do whatever you want as long as you feel better!"

With that said, Kaiden sat on the ground and began singing to Amelia.

He still remembered that Amelia burst out laughing on the previous occasion when he sang in her office.

Just as he was in the midst of singing, all in a sudden Amelia stammered as she sobbed, "B*stard... How can you move on so quick and begin to look for a new partner... So what even if she's the daughter of Mayor... Are you that desperate to be known as the son-in-law of the Mayor? If... if it were not for you who chased... Mr. Quade away and saved me... I swear that I would ruin your date without a doubt!"
