Kaiden had his eyes widened until Amelia placed two portions of food accordingly into the lunchbox.
When he saw Shawn having such sumptuous meals, he wished something could just drop from the sky so he could sacrifice himself for Amelia and be hospitalized!
Amelia finally put the lunchbox into a thermal bag and nodded with satisfaction. "Done!"
"Then let's go! We are late to work just because of your superman." After saying sourly, Kaiden reached out his hands to Amelia. "Give me the bag."
Since Kaiden had previously sneaked the tomato into his mouth, Amelia asked warily, "Why should I give it to you?"
"You're a lady after all. There's no need for me to say anything more about serving a lady, right?" Kaiden looked away somewhat awkwardly, while his fingers were still placed forward.
Amelia originally wanted to refuse, but there were others there. If Kaiden happened to mention about her pregnancy, she would be in big trouble.
"Well, thank you." Amelia smiled and hung the bag onto Kaiden's index finger.
On one hand, Kaiden was happy to be entrusted by Amelia. On the other hand, he hated himself very much. Why had he come to a stage that he needed to carry the lunchbox of his rival in love?
Amelia's car had been parked outside the the Ramsay's Mansion the previous night. When she stepped out of the main door with Kaiden, they looked like a young couple who were ready to go out for an outing while carrying their lunchbox.
"I'll drive." Kaiden said when Amelia pressed the unlock button on her car remote.
"Okay, then I'll take the bag." Amelia was in a hurry to go to work, so she did not want to be entangled in such a small matter.
While they were on their way, Amelia suddenly remembered something and asked, "By the way, did you say that all your money was left in the bathroom of my guest room? What happened?"
Kaiden said while turning the steering wheel, "Come on! Didn't I change my clothes last night? But my ID card, driving license, wallet and some other things were still in my trouser's pocket."
Amelia immediately got anxious by his words, "Let alone the money, why didn't you take out important things such as your ID card in advance? What if the maid put your clothes into the machine to wash? What could you do about that!"
"Er... I forgot." Kaiden looked at Amelia's eyes in the rearview mirror innocently. But, his true intention was to find another chance to enter the the Ramsay's Mansion again. So, he had only taken his phone deliberately and left all the other important things in his original clothes.
"I'm speechless for you. I'd better make a phone call and let them not wash your clothes."
Amelia shook her head as she took out her cell phone and dialed her home number. She felt that she was even more anxious than Kaiden. Although she was helpless, she really did not want to be framed by Kaiden's accusation of her losing his ID card.
When they arrived at the company, Amelia unexpectedly received a call from Audrey.
Audrey sounded ill.
Amelia inquired her carefully. It turned out that Audrey had a stomachache after Jonathan sent her home the previous night. She was still suffering from diarrhea that morning and her whole body was feverish. She really could not take it so she
could only call in for a sick leave.
Other than that, Audrey was alone at home too since her family had gone out to work early in the morning.
Right after Amelia heard that Audrey was having a hard time panting, she hurriedly told her to drink more water and refrain from moving around. She also told her not to worry about work as she would arrange the following matter for her.
At noon, in the hospital.
"Ms Ramsay, you really came?"
"Shawn, I've promised to send you food yesterday. How could I lie to you?" Under Shawn's surprised look, Amelia turned to Kimberley Young and said, "Kimberley, you've been troubled."
"No trouble at all. I'll leave now. Call me if you need anything."
This was what happened. When Amelia appeared outside Shawn's ward with a lunchbox and a fruit basket, Kimberley happened to be changing the gauze on his back for him.
When the two in the ward heard the movement at the door, they looked up and exchange glances. That was where the conversation above came.
"Kimberley, don't leave in such a hurry." After putting the lunchbox and fruit basket down, Amelia caught up with her. She politely stopped Kimberley who was holding a treatment plate and asked softly, "Is my sister still causing any trouble?"
Kimberley's delicate face immediately looked distressed when Brittany was mentioned. "Yes, but they're just small quarrels. After other patients had complained about her a few times, she received a few warnings from the hospital. So far that has put her to an end for the time being."
Seeing the disgust on Kimberley's face, Amelia keenly asked, "Did she make a complaint about you?"
"Yes, she did. She complained to my senior." Kimberley sighed and spoke the truth, "At first, her complaint had truly brought effect and my senior actually criticized me. But later, all the patients and their families who share the same ward as her pleaded for mercy for me. Since she was complaint for many times, my senior no longer took her words seriously. She is a fine lady, but why is she so emotional?"
Amelia touched Kimberley's shoulder and said, "Don't mind her. She's spoiled by the elders in her family since young."
