Sawyer finally averted his gaze when Amelia, who was being held in Patrick's arms walked out of his sight. Instead of being as sharp-eyed as usual, the look in Sawyer's eyes softened for a moment.
On the other side, Amelia suddenly raised her head and looked in the direction where Sawyer was at.
However, she did not spot him as she was not tall enough,. Also, there was also a huge crowd in the airport.
It gained Patrick's attention. He stared at Amelia's side profile and asked in a husky voice, "What's
?ll w
"Nothing..." replied Amelia. However, she felt uneasy and spoke her mind, "I feel like someone's watching us."
Patrick tightened his grip on her shoulder and ordered his men, "Be alert!"
He would never allow Mrs. Hopper to get hurt in front of him!
"Yes, sir," Wayne, Richard and the rest nodded and replied upon hearing his order.
They boarded the plane after the security screening and ticket reviews.
The rest of the passengers were envious to see Amelia surrounded by dozens of handsome young men and held by the most attractive and mature one out of all. Moreover, the man guy was gazing dotingly at her.
Although they were in a foreign city, they were deemed as attractive to the locals in
Florence. Ladies winked at them, and there were some catcalls from men as well.
Amelia knew that all of this had nothing to do with her. If anyone had an interest in her, they would freak out at the sight of Patrick's men.
As for Patrick, he ignored his surroundings and only had his eyes for the woman next to him, as if she was his everything.
Wayne was bold and shot looks at the pretty ladies along his way. If he did not have to protect Patrick and Amelia, he would have probably asked them out for a drink.
Richard's body stiffened under the passionate gazes of the ladies. He lowered his head while he walked through the aisle, and his ears went red from embarrassment.
The stewardesses smiled amicably at Patrick and Amelia, and Patrick kept guard over Amelia until
she sat on the VIP seat.
After that, Amelia realized that the VIP seats were all occupied by Patrick's men.
She felt at ease being surrounded by Patrick's own people as no one could guarantee that nothing would happen on the plane.
A man in an American military uniform stood in the airport as he watched the plane take off from the runway and finally felt relieved.
Then, he turned to look at the third floor at the spot where Sawyer appeared before.
He had sent men to keep an eye on Sawyer prior to this, and he patiently waited to see what Sawyer was going to do after he asked his people to check which flight Patrick was going to be on.
So, he was surprised to find that Sawyer did not further take any action. It was rare for Sawyer to stay calm after suffering such a great humiliation.
Thus, Owen smiled and gazed up at the sky. The weather was pleasant at Florence, but what about Northville? He hoped Patrick and Amelia could get used to the change in weather quickly.
On the plane.
Patrick was obsessed by her smile, and he blurted out, "Mrs. Hopper, why is your smile so pretty? I feel like I'm short of breath whenever you smile at me."
Amelia touched her nose and said, "That's because we're at a high altitude. It's not surprising that you feel short of breath."
"So, should Mrs. Hopper provide me some air to help me survive this long flight?"
Patrick's attractive face then came within inches of hers. He looked like a child who was eager to get candies.
Amelia turned her head away and looked at the scenery outside the window instead. She then held the glass with her hands and took a sip of water from time to time, completely ignoring how
isolated Patrick.
Patrick could not help but get mad at Amelia.
She was teasing him!
He whispered into her ears while flustered with his breath slightly unstable, "Mrs. Hopper, how can you ignore me after seducing me?"
After that, he bit on her slender neck out of irritation.
Amelia shivered and turned to glare at him. "I'm worried that you'll be lustful and let your guard down. What if someone attacks us while I'm kissing you?" asked Amelia.
Patrick pondered for a moment and found what she said made sense. "Fine, I'll get even with you for this after we get home."
"We'll see then!" Amelia did not worry at all. She knew that Patrick would have boundaries because of how much he cared about her and the baby.
