Patrick got off the car after the Land Rover pulled to a stop in front of one of the villas at Land of Fragrance. Then, he turned around and stretched his arms. It looked like he was preparing to carry Amelia out of the car!
Amelia's eyes widened in shock under Wayne and Richard's watchful gaze. She had never imagined that Patrick would carry her in the way how adults carried toddlers.
"No, thank you. I can get out of the car by myself," said Amelia.
Patrick remained in his stance despite what Amelia said with an encouraging smile as if he was asking her to relax and allow him to carry her. Amelia felt helpless.
Patrick could see the embarrassment from her eyes, then he coaxed her patiently, "Mrs. Hopper, the reason that I'm doing this is that I'm worried that you'll fall since the car is quite high. Cooperate with me, okay?"
"Yes, Amelia. We won't make fun of you. You guys are so lovey-dovey," Wayne followed suit to persuade Amelia. He thought the reason Amelia felt embarrassed was that he and Richard were there with them.
Amelia was left with no choice. So, she listened to Patrick and stretched out a hand
to him.
After that, Patrick took her hand and held her in his arms.
While he carried her, he cooed softly, "Let's go home."
'Let's go home.'
Amelia's eyes filled with tears instantly. She quickly buried her face in his chest as she did not want Patrick to notice it. “Hmm,” she replied.
"Bro Patrick, where are we staying tonight? Do you need our protection?" Wayne, who was seated in the car, grabbed the door and strained his neck to ask when Patrick left them.
Patrick turned his head to look at Wayne and Richard. "There's no need to. Both of you can go back now."
"Okay, good night, Bro Patrick! Good night, Amelia!"
Wayne smiled and leaned back against the seat, while Richard nodded shyly at them. Then, they drove away.
There was a worrying look on Amelia's face. She tugged on Patrick's jacket, looked up at him and asked, "Is it okay to leave them alone?"
Patrick lowered his head to look at her and asked gently, "Hmm. What’s wrong with that?"
Amelia felt energized under Patrick’s gaze. She shook her head and said, "Nothing.
Let's go home!"
Sawyer had also returned to Northville at the same time.
Although he had taken the next flight, there was only a forty-minute time gap with the flight that Patrick and Amelia boarded. He then immediately made arrangements to send Brayden to the hospital for emergency treatment once they landed at the airport. After that, Sawyer made way to Streams Villa with another car.
He could not wait to go home to Sissi!
He worried about her, although he had prepared enough food for her before he left.
Sawyer wondered how she was doing after he left the island.
On the other side, Sawyer grabbed the key from his bedroom and stood at the door to the child's room.
He was in a dilemma of choosing between his son and the woman he loved. He would have brought Abner along to meet Sissi if Abner was fine with her.
But on a second thought, Sawyer recalled that Amelia had tried to enlighten Abner about it before. Besides, Sissi had not seen Abner for a few days. Perhaps they would be delighted to meet each other later.
So, Sawyer opened the door and gently carried Abner into his arms, who was sleeping soundly.
Both the butler and Savannah were not around went he reached downstairs. He felt relieved as he did not have to explain where he was bringing Abner to.
Sawyer then arrived at Sissi's residence without anyone noticing. All the villas in Streams Villa looked the same, which baffled the outsiders. However, as the owner of Streams Villa, Sawyer could easily pinpoint the position of Sissi's residence.
Abner was thin and weak, so Sawyer was able to carry him with just one arm. Then, he inserted the key into the keyhole with the other hand. The door opened after a gentle turn.
Sawyer did not turn on the lights hurriedly after he entered the house. Instead, he relied on his outstanding vision and exceptional memory to draw the curtains. After that, only then did he bend down and switch on a lamplight.
The lamplight was dim, but it was better than nothing. Also, the light would not leak with the cover of the curtains this way.
After all of this, Sawyer glanced around and found that Sissi, the woman that he missed so much was lying on the sofa!
Sissi looked extremely alluring in her red silk nightgown.
Sawyer then lowered Abner onto the sofa. Abner was sleeping soundly, and he smacked his lips as if he was having a sweet dream.
