When Sawyer came forward, it was only then he realized that Sissi was flushing unnaturally.
He frowned and subconsciously leaned over and placed his hand on her forehead. Fortunately, there was no sign of her having a fever.
When he was inches away from her face, he immediately detected the smell of alcohol from her breathing.
He could even tell that it was a Brandy that she had consumed.
At the end of the day, Sawyer was relieved to know that it was not a fever that had caused her to be flushing.
He turned around and swept a glance at Abner. At the sight of both Sissi and Abner were sleeping soundly, he had no other choice but to delay the plan for some bonding time.
However, there was one doubt consuming his mind, "Why did Sissi drink?"
After all, he remembered that Sissi would never try out alcohol no matter what in the past.
All in a sudden, Sissi frowned. She happened to let out a soft grunt at this moment as if she was responding to his doubt. She then struggled to open her eyes.
Sawyer was standing with his back facing the light source. Coupling with the fact that she had been drinking heavily, in a trace she mistook Sawyer as someone else when she was being towered by his shadow. All in a sudden, her eyes teared up as she asked sorrowfully, "Is that you, Patrick? You're finally here to see me."
Sawyer narrowed his eyes at her words. One second ago, he was still overwhelmed by the happiness of which Sissi had finally reunited with him and their son. At this moment, his happiness was replaced instantly by a darkened expression.
He could not help growling in his heart, "Patrick! Patrick again!
What's so good about him? Why must you think of him all the time?"
"What about me?" Staring at Sissi's teary eyes, he asked indignantly, "What am I to you?"
Despite the fact that she was heavily intoxicated, she had not been losing her mind completely. She soon came to realize that it was not Patrick who was speaking. At this realization, she could not help feeling alarmed. All in a sudden, she was sobered up from her drunkenness.
She covered her face with both hands in panic. Meanwhile, she tried to peek at Sawyer's expression through the space between her fingers. The truth was even without her doing so, she could tell from her past experience that he wanted no more than strangling her at this moment.
If she were to compare Patrick and Sawyer, the latter was obsessed with her on another level.
Unfortunately, she happened to dream of Patrick at the night when Sawyer was out late. In fact, she had a dream on those days when she was being imprisoned by Howard. At that time, Patrick's visit was the only thing that supported her to make it through.
When she was more or less awake, all she could see was Sawyer glaring at her.
The truth was Sissi could not be any more experienced in handling a situation of such. Back in those days, it was not new for Sissi that Patrick and Sawyer had been fighting with each other for her. That was when she had come up with a solution to deal with their possessiveness since then.
At this moment, Sissi pretended to massage her temples. With a confused look, she then sat up from the couch which put her up to the height of Sawyer's waist. Subsequently, she began to put on her drama.
"You're..."
Sissi pretended as if she could not process his words all in a sudden. He finally said, "I'm not Patrick, Sissi! Look, I'm Sawyer!" It was only then she widened her eyes in belief as she looked at the man in his eyes.
It took her a while before she murmured
confusedly, "You're Sawyer..."
When Sissi finally called out his name, Sawyer could no longer suppress his desire. He sealed her lips with an overbearing kiss and began making out with her...
Sissi was triumphed at his kiss. It seemed to her that those tricks she had been using in the past still worked on Sawyer at this moment.
It was only when Sissi was gasping for breath that Sawyer decided to let go of her.
Meanwhile, she also pretended as if she had finally recognized the man in front of her. Holding his face with both of her hands, she asked fawningly, "Sawyer? Is this real? It's really you, Sawyer!"
Sawyer stared at her beaming face as he asked her back, "Who else had you mistaken me for?"
"For one second I thought I must be dreaming!" With that said, Sissi pinched her arm all in a sudden. In the next second, she cried out in pain, "Ouch! It's painful! This means that this is real! You're real! This isn't just a dream!"
