Amelia thought of heading to the hospital right after work. However, on a second thought, she soon remembered that Patrick would undoubtedly need clothes for changing if he were to stay in the hospital for a couple of days more. Since she had nothing scheduled for the rest of the day, she decided to bring some clothes over from Land of Fragrance.
What she had no idea of, was that Eve had been waiting at the entrance of Land of Fragrance for almost a day!
Unfortunately, Eve did not get to see her son as she wished. Instead, it was the ex-daughter-in-law that she attempted to murder who showed up at the entrance!
When Amelia first saw a strange car parking at the front of the porch, she came to think that it was a guest expecting to see Patrick. However, as she approached the car, she soon spotted Connor's face through the windscreen of the car.
The flash of surprise across her face did not last for long. After all, Amelia was aware that there were a handful of cars parked in the garage of the Hopper's Mansion. There was no way that she could recognize every of them.
However, there was one thing that confused her, "Why is Connor here? Is he here to visit Patrick?"
Just as Amelia was sinking in her thought, Eve opened the car door and got down from the car. She stomped in direction of Amelia furiously as she questioned, "Why are you here to pester my son again?"
It turned out that it was Eve who wanted to see Patrick. Connor was the one who fetched her over.
Unfortunately, Patrick had been admitted to the hospital since morning of the day itself. The purpose of their visit was going to go to vain.
However, judging from Eve's temper, Amelia doubted that she would make way for her without looking for her troubles. Hence, it would be better for her to leave as soon as she got what she wanted. The last thing she wanted was to get tangled up with that woman.
With the thought in mind, Amelia rummaged in her bag before she found the key. Subsequently, she bypassed Eve and headed to open the door.
"Had you not done enough to trouble my son? Why the hell are you here now..."
Eve could not help swearing at Amelia as soon as she saw her. When she saw Amelia taking out a key, she screeched again, "Hold on! Why do you have the key to my son's house?"
Dodging away from Eve's hand, Amelia replied expressionlessly, "Of course, he gave It to me.
Eve glared at her enragedly as she refuted, "There's no way that he would give it to you! It must be you keeping it to yourself secretly after getting a divorce with him! Hurry up and return it to me now!"
Amelia pursed her lips in vexation. She fired back, "Why must I return it to you? I remember that the property is not registered under your name."
Eve spoke righteously, "I'm Patrick's mother. It makes perfect sense that I own his house too!"
"Oh really? Instead of arguing here, why not we call and ask him now. We shall let him decide whether he would like you this old lady to have the key or not."
"Amelia!" Eve wanted to cut off Amelia's tongue so badly at this moment. Not only did she hold her son against her, but she had gone on to disrespect her by saying her old!
"By the way, aren't you the one who claimed that you owned everything belonged to Patrick including this house? In that case, why are you waiting at the door all this while? You could have simply entered the house. Hold on..." A mocking smile flashed across Amelia's face as she gloated, "You don't have the key to the house, do you?"
At the sight of Eve's darkening expression, Amelia chuckled. She ridiculed, "How is that possible?! You're Patrick’s mother! Most importantly, you're Ms. Watson of the Hopper's Family! You could have everything at your finger tips. Surely I must be wrong to even think that you don’t have the key..."
The features on Eve's face crumpled together as anger swept her away. She bellowed in agony, "B*tch! You're a Peking b*tch! I should have killed you when I ran into you the other day!"
Amelia merely heaved a sigh upon hearing this. She then agreed regretfully, "What a loss! It's such a regret. Not only did you not kill me, I should thank you for bringing Patrick back to me."
"Hold on... What do you mean?"
Eve's eyes widened in disbelief. Upon meeting her shocking eyes, Amelia declared smilingly, "Ms. Watson, I bet you're still unaware that Patrick and I have already decided to get back together. Thanks to your order of running into me, Patrick proved to me that he would risk his life just to save me. Surviving from the car accident had made us realize how much we meant for each other. I'm grateful that we finally had a chance to confess to each other of our feeling."
When the words came out of Amelia's mouth, Eve took a step back agitatedly. Pointing a finger at Amelia, she cursed, "Shame on you! You're nothing but a wh*re!"
Driven by her overloaded curiosity, the fact that Florence was forbidden by Eve to tag along did not stop her from coming on her own. Hence, she had been tailing Eve to Land of Fragrance in an attempt to surprise her and Patrick.
Unfortunately, it turned out that Eve had not informed Patrick of her visit. As a result, there was no one at home. They had no other choice but to wait at the entrance.
Having in mind that she had nothing scheduled for the rest of the day, Florence decided to stay at the garden. She spent most of her time using her phone as she waited for Patrick to come back. She even sneaked out for lunch at noon before she returned to the garden and continued waiting.
To Florence's surprise, it was not Patrick who showed up at the door but Amelia!
Subsequently, she overheard the heated argument between Amelia and Eve. It was the content of their argument that had since then turned her world upside down!
At first instance, Florence thought of convincing herself that she had probably misheard it. However, what Eve had shouted in frantic at the end of the fight was more
than enough to prove to her that she did not get anything wrong!
"There's no wonder that Mom seemed distracted and restless lately...
There's no wonder that Patrick would neither pick up my call or return home...
It was Mom who ordered someone to run into Amelia by car! She probably never expected that Patrick would be involved in the accident!
How on earth could she do something so horrible?!"
Florence's eyes began to well up. Her tears streamed down her cheeks uncontrollably. She bit her lips forcibly and sought to suppress the urge to step forward and contradict her mother with the truth that she had just learnt.
