Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1424

Florence glared at him and said, "You just want to get rid of me! I'm not that easy to mess with! If what you said is true, then let that fortune-teller's words speak for themselves! I'm waiting!"

As soon as she finished, the incandescent lamp above their heads crackled followed by a bang' as if something had exploded. It sounded like the light bulbs had imploded and shattered the fluorescent tube!

In the next second, pieces of glass started falling to the ground, shocking Hobart and Florence.

"Are you two all right?" A nurse nearby heard the commotion and rushed over to ask.

Hobart was the first to come to his senses and reply, "We're fine. Just an accident."

Then, he held Florence's hand and left while pulling her along.

The nurse then asked a janitor to clean up the debris on the ground and arranged for a maintenance worker to change the light bulbs and fluorescent tube. The accident came to an end.

On the other side.

It took Florence quite a while to recover from the shock. She asked Hobart with a pale face, "What... what happened?" "Didn't I tell you?" Hobart let go of her hand and leaned against the wall, sighing.

"You were telling the truth!" Florence gawked at him in disbelief.

Hobart nodded. "That's right. Didn't I tell you to leave earlier? You refused to leave, and that's why that happened. Are you scared now?

"I... I thought you were joking with me!" Florence patted her chest and murmured in shock.

"Joking? Hmph! Do you think I'll mess with you over such a serious matter? Now, I've told you what would happen. Leave now then, or no one will be able to save you if anything else happens later." Hobart added sinisterly.

Florence shuddered. Then, she turned on her heels and left without bothering to seek justice from Hobart!

After all, what happened was so sudden that she felt like she was in a horror film!

Usually, those who did not believe in heresy would continue with their action after encountering the paranormal events. Then, they would die an untimely death because of said heresy!

No. Florence had to be the smart protagonist.

She had to stay away from Hobart!

Hobart looked at Florence's dazed figure as she strayed away. Hobart's hands, which were clutching his belly, were trembling because he was holding back his laughter.

He did not expect that even God would help him!

He had made up a lie to scare Florence away, then God immediately made the lamp burst and created a gloomy atmosphere. No matter how bold Florence was, she would not dare to provoke him again, would she?

On the other side, Amelia who had returned to the ward came to the door's window and looked inside. Florence had already left, and Patrick was leaning against the headboard with a pillow on his back, reading a book attentively.

She pushed the door open and said softly, "You haven't recovered completely, so don't tire yourself out."

When Patrick heard her voice, he shut his book and asked with a smile, "Have you finished talking to Florence?"

"Florence?" Amelia showed a clueless expression. "No, I haven't seen her on my way here."

"Are you all right?" Amelia asked gently, but she was asking the little boy who fell on the road.

The little boy stood up carelessly and answered Amelia, "I'm fine." After that, he looked at Patrick and said, "Uncle, I'm sorry. I ran too fast and I didn't notice you."

At that moment, the boy's parents immediately quickened their pace and soon came to in front of Patrick. They bowed to the seemingly wealthy man and apologized, "I'm so sorry, sir. My son was insensible and crashed into you. Please forgive him!"

Patrick nodded at them. "I've accepted his apology. Mrs. Hopper, let's go."

"Okay." Amelia smiled gently at the panicking family and pushed Patrick deeper into the garden.

At this time, the boy's immature voice sounded from behind Amelia. "Mom and Dad, I've already apologized to that uncle."

"Right, my son's such a good boy!" "Then, is it like what grandma always says, that God will bless a good child?" The boy's voice was full of anticipation.

"Of course!"

"Then... will... I recover soon?" the little boy asked innocently.

"Well... yes! You'll definitely recover! When Mom and Dad find you the suitable bone marrow, you'll be cured..."

After that, Amelia could not hear the rest of their conversation.

All of a sudden, it felt to her that life was unpredictable. The only thing she could do was to cherish the moments of happiness, holding onto no sorrow nor grudges. It was because in life, there were always people who had it worse and yet their smiles shone brighter.
