It was out of their expectation that the men in black, who were well-trained would be at a disadvantage as they were passively being beaten upon.
It was all thanks to Richard's surprise attack and that the men took Sawyer's order into account. The men worried they might end up killing Richard and Wayne, so they dared not go all out on the attack. Because of that, they ended up this way!
In the face of Wayne's threat, the rest of the men, who were mostly beaten down, quickly cried out, "Spare him!"
"Don't worry about me!" The leader in black, who was trampled under Wayne's foot, commanded. "Don't forget sir's order. Guard the door strictly! No one is allowed to pass!"
As the men in black who were in low spirits began to outflank them again, Richard kept shooting while retreating to Wayne's side. He then asked in a low voice, "What should we do?"
"What? Just fight!" Wayne spat impulsively.
David quickly replied in a calm manner, "No way. Although they're affected by the powder, they still outnumber us. If they fight with all their might, we'll be at disadvantage."
"No. Their leader is under my foot, so they won't dare to act rashly!"
Wayne even shouted at the men cockily, "Hey, guys! Am I right about that?"
The men in black were speechless and even thought of crushing Wayne alive.
But, David could hardly relax because the calm sea was rippling which was followed by continuous roars that sounded like engines.
"Wayne, listen... What's that sound?"
Wayne waved his hand and answered without looking back, "Ah, I don't care about that. I'm busy here."
Just then, the leader, who was trampled on the ground, suddenly let out an annoying cackle. "Hahaha! You're cooked!"
"Behave yourself!" After hearing what he said, Wayne annoyedly kicked him in the face and broke his front teeth.
After a while, more than a dozen yachts sailed through the wind and waves from all directions. On each yacht, there was a group of men in black with submachine guns in their hands. Not only that, but they were also armoured in bulletproof gears from head to toe!
Richard appeared to be serious in an instant. He looked sideways at Wayne and said, "Their reinforcements have arrived. We need to think of an escape!"
"Escape? Are you leaving Amelia alone in this d*mned place?" Wayne joked.
Richard then looked down at the leader under Wayne's foot and made a decision. "We'll go along with him!"
Wayne was stunned and then asked with while livid, "Have you lost your mind? Are you leaving her alone here?"
"Calm down and listen to me." Richard was sombre. "It's clear that Sawyer has captured us to threaten Patrick. If we're caught, it'll only add to his threat. We may as well think of a way to escape as soon as possible so that we can discuss countermeasures with Patrick. I've already taken a good look at the island's structure when we arrived, so... can you trust me for once?"
"But, can you guarantee that Sawyer won't do anything to her?" Wayne was already imagining the scenes of Sawyer tormenting Amelia in his mind!
"He won't. Sawyer knows how to act to get himself the most advantages. He won't torture Amelia unless he's out of his mind." As Richard analyzed, he quickly fired his gun to push back the men who were closing in on them.
At this moment, the yachts were approaching. Countless men in black rushed ashore and surrounded Wayne and David in a fan formation.
When Sawyer was unable to contact his men, he decisively dialled another number.
Amelia heard all of his orders, but she could not stand it and burst, "Sawyer, I told you to release Wayne and Richard. Why did you dispatch another group of men to the island?"
"I have no choice. They're not cooperative." Sawyer pretended to be frustrated and said after putting his phone down.
Amelia clenched her teeth and spat,
"If anything happens to Richard and Wayne, I'll end my life immediately by biting my tongue! It's up to you if you want to believe me or not!" "Well, biting your tongue won't kill you, actually. And for your child's sake, I believe you won't take the risk."
"You're a j*rk!" Amelia's face flushed red as she fiercely glared at Sawyer with her teary eyes.
Sawyer then lowered his head and stared into Amelia's eyes, which were sparkling and looked boundless.
All of a sudden, he reached out and gently covered her eyes. Although she shoved his hands away in the next second, he was not pissed at all. Instead, Sawyer said in a low voice, "Your bright eyes are as clear as the sea. Can they be the reason why Abner likes you so much?"
Amelia turned her head away in rage and ignored his enigmatic words.
Sawyer did not mind either, as he would make Amelia stay no matter what.
Sawyer believed that Patrick would not bear to leave his wife and child in danger.
