Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1496

After a long nap, Patrick suddenly grabbed Amelia's hand as she was about to leave the room. He announced, "Amy, let's go home."

"Go home? Now?" Amelia said uncertainly.

"Well, I have already handled most of the urgent matters in the morning. There should be nothing in the afternoon."

It turned out that he was so focused in the morning to finish work early and accompany her home.

She was moved in fact, but it was impossible for him to finish all the work hoarded after the accident in just one morning. Amelia, as a director, was very experienced in it.

However, would it not harm his good intentions by saying things like that?

Amelia decided to be indirect. "But if we go home now, what if something urgent comes up in the afternoon?"

"Then I'll deal with it tomorrow." Patrick only cared about Amelia's mood at the moment.

While Amelia cared about the overall interests of Roxxon. "It's fine. I have nothing to do at home anyway. I might as well wait here until you get off work."

"Aren't you bored?"

Patrick remembered that Amelia had been shrinking on the sofa watching a silent TV while he was dealing with his business that morning. He wanted to talk to her, but the piled-up work had restricted him.

Somehow, he suddenly came up with the idea of letting go of all his responsibilities and to live as an ordinary person.

At this moment, Amelia's delicate voice sounded, "I'm not bored as I have you with me."

Patrick knew that his worry was unnecessary when he heard her calm tone, "Since my wife wants me to work hard, I will obey her order."

"That's more like it." Amelia stroked his bangs and said, "I'll make you a cup of coffee so you could get more refreshed."

Then, she opened the door and left.

As she left, Patrick stood still and thought about something on the spot. Then he took out his phone and called the secretary, and told her to inform all the departments of the company to work overtime for one more hour. So he and Amelia could avoid the crowd perfectly when they left later.

In the evening, on the Land of Fragrance.

After the car stopped, Patrick turned to the young lady in the next seat and said, "Amy, you get off first while I'll drive the car to the parking lot." "Okay." After Amelia got off the car, she consciously stood aside and watched him leave.

She turned around, and just as she was looked down to find the door key, a figure suddenly flashed out from the nearby bushes. He quickly came to her and grabbed her wrist!

"Who is it?!" Amelia raised her eyes in shock. When she saw his appearance, she immediately became less nervous. "Kaiden, why are you here?"

"I'm here for you!"

Kaiden had just arrived as well. He was going to ring the doorbell directly, but when he saw Patrick's fancy sports car, he unknowingly felt diffident and subconsciously hid himself.

"Why did you come to me?" Amelia paused for a moment and asked, "Did something happen to the Eastern District project?"

"Why are you still in the mood to care about other matters? You're the one in trouble right now, okay?!" Kaiden was anxious so he could not help but tightened his grip on her wrist.

Amelia noticed their current posture and immediately felt that it was inappropriate. "Let go of me quick, or others might misunderstand!"

"You're afraid of being misunderstood just because I grabbed your hand? Then why weren't you afraid when you got off Patrick's car just now?" Although his words were full of jealousy, Kaiden still let go of her hand.

"Don't you know that the two of you have different relationships with me?" Amelia reminded him that he should know his own place.

Kaiden nodded. "Yesterday, I called him and told him about your matters. I wanted him to help out, but he didn't agree. He's even asked me not to interfere. There must be something wrong with you two!"

"So you're referring to this matter?" Amelia scratched her ear and finally said to get away from trouble, "I can't tell you anything about it."

Kaiden snorted, "Sawyer also hung up the phone without saying anything. It seems that there's indeed something fishy going on between you two."

Amelia waved her hand. "It has nothing to do with you."

Kaiden said with his eyes widened, "How could it have nothing to do with me? I was the one who initiated your collaboration. If there happens a contradiction, I have to be responsible in solving it!"

Amelia wished that she could draw a clear line with them. "There's no need. Sawyer was right. My affairs are none of his business, and neither yours. I have my own way."

"What can you do? You'll have to rely on your ex-husband in the end!" When it came to Patrick, Kaiden could not help but had some prejudice.

"That's right, so what if I rely on him? He's truly reliable." Unexpectedly, Amelia did not feel ashamed, but rather proud of it.

Kaiden felt disappointed. "I'm the dignified designer of the Apex Construction Corporation while Sawyer is the major shareholder behind. Don't you think it's a detour for you to find your ex-husband for help while ignoring such ready supporters?"

Amelia noticed the grievance and loss in his eyes. She knew that he had truly been considerate for her.

However, he probably did not know that she had already declared to breach the contract with Sawyer, nor did he know that Sawyer had used her to threaten Patrick.

And she did not intend to tell Kaiden about these things.

Because Kaiden was not a bad person. He could even be considered rather innocent.

If he knew that Sawyer, whom he respected, was a villain who would do anything to reach his goal. And Sawyer was even a drug dealer, he would definitely lose his mind.
