Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1611

Milton had never expected that that was the reason. In response, his refined handsome face darkened.

All of a sudden, he was not in a rush to drive. He stared at Maryanne and asked in a strange tone, "You feel uncomfortable when you see him? Don't tell me that you still have feelings for him?"

Maryanne gawked at him incredulously. Others might not know what happened, but Milton certainly did. Her hands were injured under Patrick's order! She was terrified of Patrick, so how could she still have feelings for him?!

Did Milton feel pleasure in insulting her this way?

After chewing her lower lip hard, Maryanne's pale cheeks reddened. She managed to suppress her anger and replied, "Other than awkwardness, I don't have any other feelings for him!"

"Really?" Milton did not know what was wrong with himself as he added unexpectedly, "You used to pester him like a fangirl of his, didn't you?"

"Milton Cook!" Maryanne could not bear it any longer and glare at him with tears welled up in her eyes. "You know I like you! Why do you have to use Patrick to hurt me?"

Milton was stunned by her tears. Wait, was he competing with Patrick because he was jealous?

How could this be possible?

He was only soft-hearted towards Maryanne. He was not interested in her!

"Answer me. Why aren't you replying?" Maryanne was genuinely angry. She felt that Milton and Patrick had colluded in making her life a struggle!

"What... What do you want me to say?" Milton asked, flustered. If Maryanne was listening intently, she would have noticed that his tone had become much gentler.

"You said I have feelings for Patrick!" Maryanne asked indignantly, livid, "I want to know how did you come to the conclusion that I still like him? Oh. Do you think that I was playing hard to get when I hid behind you when I saw him? Is that it?"

"I..." Milton was at loss.

"I, Maryanne Smith, have always been outright in relationships. I admit that I used to like him and had pursued him recklessly. But that's in the past! But now, I like you, and the person I want to be with all the time is you, Milton Cook!" When Maryanne spoke the last two words from the bottom of her heart, she almost shocked Milton's soul.

He found that the fury that had just emerged in him had gradually dissipated because of her words. In fact, he even felt happier.

But this did not make sense!

He was supposed to guide Maryanne to tell him the truth of how she had pushed Amelia down the stairs. So why did the topic shift to Patrick? Also, it was him who initiated it.

After a silent sigh, Milton's voice softened. "Maryanne, I'm sorry. It was my fault. I was paranoid and wasn't thinking straight. I've wrongly accused you."

Maryanne was still hurt by what he said. She could not help but mock herself, "To you, I'm just a crazy woman who goes around flirting with any handsome guy I see anyway. I understand. You don't have to explain!"

After that, Maryanne unfastened her seat belt and opened the car door, ready to get off.

"Maryanne!" Milton panicked. He wanted to hold her, but she pushed her way. So, he could only watch her get out of the car.

After she slammed the car door, Maryanne took the chance to say to Milton with a poker face as Milton rolled the window down, "Don't worry about me. I'll go back on my own!"

"How can you? It's too sunny out there, and you're not feeling well!" Milton frowned and said in a halfnegotiating and commanding tone, "Maryanne, stop being angry with me. Get in the car quickly!”

"I said I'll go back on my own!" Maryanne was determined to go on her way. However, she did not know where she got the courage to go against Milton. She only knew how hurt she felt when he wrongly accused her of still having feelings for Patrick. He might have just stabbed her heart with a knife. He knew what happened! So, why did he have to say that to her?

"Maryanne Smith!" When Milton saw that she turned around and left, he raised his voice. He hurriedly unfastened his seat belt, pushed open the door and got off the car. Then, he ran up to her and grabbed her hand. "I've already apologized to you. What else do you want?"

Was it true that he had spoiled Maryanne, just like what Amelia said?

"Let go of me!" Maryanne twisted her arms several times, but Milton was holding onto her hand tightly. So, she could only turn her hear back and expressed with grief, "It's because there's nothing you and I can do so that I chose to leave on my own. If I continue to stay, well only argue!"

Milton looked at her with a deep gaze and said, "I don't want to quarrel with you, and that's why I apologized! Can you forgive me for what I said? I didn't mean it."

"You didn't mean it?" Maryanne could not help but repeat what he said. He could have used this trick to coax a child, but it would be difficult to fool her.

"Maryanne..." Maryanne's tears was rolling down her cheeks, and Milton tried to speak something. But just as he was about to speak, she muttered in a trembling voice.

"Milton, tell me. When will you and Patrick have enough of this?"

Milton's mouth twitched. He stood paralyzed, rooted to his spot.

At Land of Fragrance.

When Patrick entered the living room, he saw some snacks and tea on the coffee table, which must have been served for the guests.

"Can I accept this?" Amelia raised the bottle of perfume in her hand.

In fact, she had already accepted it. She had only asked it out of respect for Patrick.

Patrick answered, "Of course, but I hope that Amy... is covered in only my scent."

Amelia understood what he said. Although Patrick allowed her to accept Milton's gift, he did not want her to wear it.

Thinking about it in another way, if another woman gave Patrick a bottle of cologne, she certainly would not want him to wear it too.

Then she would use this bottle of perfume as decoration. The bottle looked chic anyway.

"Okay, I got it," Amelia replied and closed the lid on the perfume. Then, she took it to the dressing table in the bedroom and placed it on the vanity. After that, she went downstairs to find Patrick for lunch.

On the other hand, Milton seemed to be unaware of the trickling passage of time. His dark eyes were fixated on Maryanne, and his expression was strange.

It took him a while to find back his voice. "What... What are you talking about, Maryanne? When did Patrick and I have anything on you? You must have misunderstood about something."

As he spoke, he tugged at Maryanne's hand and forced a smile. "All right, it is my fault. You can scold me however you like, but you have to get back into the car with me first."

"Milton..." Maryanne grabbed his hand and rooted him where he was. At this point, she was weltered in tears.

"I'm sorry. From the beginning, I'm greedy towards your gentleness to the point where I'm completely immersed in it. But even so, what's fake is always fake. It'll never become reality..." "Maryanne, I don't understand what you're saying.

Go back to the car with me. Well talk over this!" Milton did not want to admit that he was panicking. He wanted to pacify Maryanne before deciding his next step.

But Maryanne shook her head, her reddened eyes ladened with devastation. "You and Patrick were in the other room when I was kidnapped, and I heard everything about the plan you two made for me..." Maryanne lost it and squatted down as she spoke. She burst into tears because she knew that after this, she and Milton were done with each other.

"I'm sorry that for not sticking with you until the end. I'm sorry for stopping the game without your permission," thought Maryanne.

The last straw that crushed her was when he had asked her if she still had feelings for Patrick.

Maryanna felt that she had been forbearing and ingratiating with Milton for this whole time. In Milton's eyes, it was all just a frivolous game. Because he had never believed her true feelings, he did not hesitate before saying such words to hurt her!
