Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1626

Sierra, who was resting in Patrick's arms, let out a hum as if agreeing to Amelia's words.

"And..." Amelia looked at Sierra and said in an encouraging tone, "I haven't taught her the word 'dad'. Yet she's able to call it on her own. She's so great!"

Patrick secretly felt frustrated. His relationship with Jessica was awkward. Why should the little fellow still call him by that?

Jessica, who knew nothing about it, had been hiding behind a rock by the riverbank since she was thrown into the forest that morning.

She was actually lucky to have not been attacked by any wild beasts for a whole day.

Although the animals would occasionally come to drink water by the river, she was very glad that they did not go behind the rock to attack her.

However, she had not eaten for nearly two days. She felt a little dizzy and almost took the rock in front of her as bread several times.

"Rumble, rumble..."

"Rumble rumble!"

The two voices were exactly the same, but they were from different places.

One was from Jessica's stomach and the other low voice came from the throat of the lion.

But they had completely different reactions. Jessica was feeling helpless, while the lion scratched its claws. It was staring at the rocks with an eager look.

"Don't come over, please don't come over! I'm not delicious at all..." Jessica muttered to herself. She wrapped her arms around her knees, trying to further shrink herself.

"Roar!" Right at the moment, the low growl turned into a loud roar. The lion seemed to be making its move!

Jessica screamed in fear. When she saw that it was impossible to hide, she ran away.

However, wild animals would be more attracted by moving preys. So the scene had become Jessica running ahead while the lion was chasing after her.

"Ouch!" When Jessica was running for her life, her pants was suddenly tugged on. She glanced at her legs with a pale face and saw a little lion which was half- meter- long. It was grabbing onto her pants with its claws, trying hard to 'hunt'.

So Jessica immediately stopped and said with relief, "Ah, It turns out that it was just a baby

lion..."

As soon as she finished speaking, the little lion opened its mouth and hither injured calf it was holding without hesitation.

"Ah!" Jessica was so frightened that her face paled, but it was too late to kick it away.

Fortunately, the little lion's teeth had not yet fully grown and the part where Jessica was bitten was covered with thick gauze. So the tragedy of her flesh being bitten directly had been avoided.

But even so, the pain made her want to cry.

"D*mn it!" She angrily kicked the little lion's head with her other leg. As the little lion fell to the ground, she quickly ran forward with all her strength.

After a moment of running, a snake suddenly appeared out of the bush that Jessica passed by. She was so scared that she blacked out and fell to the ground.

When the snake's cold tongue touched her face, fear and unwillingness filled her chest. Was she going to die just then?

She had yet to avenge her child, raise Sierra up, nor become Amelia's bridesmaid. She did not want to end her life full of regrets...

"Urgh..."

"Ms. Albert, are you awake?"

A surprised voice came from above her head. Jessica tried her best to widen her eyes, only to see Yash's ordinary look under the bright chandelier.

Jessica knew that she was still alive as he saw him. So she felt very grateful. "Dr. Jensen, you saved me once again."

"Not me, but Mr. Quartley's men brought me here to treat you." After a pause, Yash asked, "Ms. Albert, may I venture to ask, by what did you get bitten again?"

"Uh..." Jessica did not directly answer him, "How's my leg? Is it fine?"

"It's a second injury, but it's not very severe. However, I still hope that Ms. Albert could care for your body."

Jessica felt embarrassed as she heard this. Had Yash thought that she was a self-abuse?

Yash immediately added, "Ms. Albert is very weak now. So I think you should replenish some energy."

Jessica's stomach rumbled with this. Yash said meaningfully, "Listen, your body is protesting."

Covering her empty stomach, Jessica asked with some embarrassment, "By the way, Dr. Jensen, other than my leg, do I have any other injury? Such as poisoning..."

Yash pointed to her face. "There is indeed a mark bitten by a snake on your face."

"Ah?!" Jessica immediately touched where Yash was pointing at. Indeed, apart from a stinging pain, there were two piercing little holes.

Yash immediately explained, "But the snake is not poisonous, it would just affect your appearance. I have applied medicine on you. Don't scratch it and it will be fine in a few days."

Jessica took a long sigh of relief as she heard this. A temporary affect on her appearance was not a big deal as compared to losing her life.

"Well, Ms. Albert, I've done my job here. Please have a good rest. I'll leave first." After packing up, Yash bid goodbye to Jessica.

However, Jessica said, "Wait a minute, Dr. Jensen!"

"Ms. Albert, do you still feel uncomfortable somewhere?"

"Pardon?" Yash asked in confusion.

"Nothing, you may leave." Sawyer answered indifferently.

"Yes."

After Yash left, Sawyer waved to ask the man in black over and ordered, "Send some food to that woman." "But Master, didn't you say to make her count on herself?" "Hmm?" Sawyer replied in a long tone.

"I, I will go and prepare now!" The man in black shivered and hurried to execute the order.

Half an hour later...

The man in black came back to report to Sawyer, appearing to be in distress, "Master, that woman knocked over all the food I sent!"

Sawyer glanced at him. "Could a man like you not do anything to a woman?" Not to mention that the woman was still one suffering from hunger, tiredness and injury.

The man paused for a moment and explained guiltily, "Master, it was her who refused to cooperate. It has nothing to do with... me!"

Sawyer saw through him and said, "I may ignore your petty action just now. But this time, you must make her eat something. If she starves to death, I'll kill you."

"Yes!" The man left in fear. Not long later, he cooked another meal and sent it to Jessica's room.

Jessica, who was starving on bed, asked with a poker face when she saw him, "Why did you come again? To smash the plate in front of me once again?"

That was the fact indeed. It was not Jessica who had knocked over the food as said by the man to Sawyer. Instead, the man did not like Jessica, so he threw the plate on the floor as soon as he entered the room. He then went downstairs to Sawyer to frame up Jessica.

The man snorted with annoyance as he saw Jessica's mocking gaze. "Master is just kind to not want you to starve to death. So he asked me to send you a new portion of food."

With that, he put down the plate with a "bang". He stepped aside, seeming to be supervising Jessica to finish the food.

Facing with his drastic change in attitude, Jessica pulled the corners of her mouth and said with her eyes closed, "I'm not eating. You may take it away."

The man immedaitely said angrily, "You'd better not be so shameless!"

Jessica remained silent.

The man got a little anxious as he saw this. His master had said to kill him if the woman starved to death. And he was not joking! So he must find a way to let her eat.

But what should he do? Should he kneel down and beg her? The man was in deep frustration.

As time passed, Jessica had already had a nap, yet the man had not taken any action.

Since he was a man who used to deal with fights after all. So it was normal to be indecisive as he had never served such a delicate woman.
