In the mirror, Amelia and Jessica, who stood behind Amelia, looked at each other. Then, both of them laughed. Patrick's childishness when he got jealous was amusing.
Finally, Jessica chose an off- shoulder wedding dress for Amelia that revealed her slender neck and delicate clavicle. "If Patrick is still not satisfied with this, then he can hold an Amish wedding for you!" Jessica looked at Amelia and said.
Amelia was taken aback for a moment, then realized that the brides of the Amish community dressed very conservatively.
Amelia chuckled and slowly twirled in front of the mirror. The hemline of the dress was like a blooming lily, beautiful and alluring.
To take advantage of this opportunity, Wayne clutched his heart in one hand and snapped a photo with the camera in his other. He felt gleeful when he thought of the envious expressions on the others' faces when they saw the photos.
"If you wear a pair of crystal shoes, it'll be perfect," suggested Jessica.
The clerk, who had been arranging the wedding dress for Amelia in silence, hurriedly chimed in when she heard her, "Ladies, our shop also sells crystal shoes. Do you want me to bring them to you?"
Jessica tilted her head to one side and looked at the clerk. "I'm talking about real crystals. Are the shoes made of natural crystals, or are they artificial ones?"
"Ah?" The clerk then stuttered, "They're artificial ones..."
"Then forget it." Jessica rejected her request in Amelia's stead.
"Jessica..." Amelia felt that it did not matter if the crystals were natural or artificial, as long as the heels fitted her feet well.
Jessica immediately continued as she heard Amelia's words, "Since you can afford it, why don't you ask Patrick to customize a pair of real crystal shoes for you? Most women have only one wedding ceremony in their lives. So what if you want to make it grand? If I were you, I would want to get on news headline on the day of my marriage!"
"You're already on the headline," Amelia teased.
"Oh, dear. Don't make fun of me. We don't have the same conditions!" Jessica refuted.
Amelia pinched Jessica's cheek. "In short, I don't want to be on the headline, and I don't want crystal shoes either. As long as the people I love and the people who love me are by my side, I'll be satisfied."
Jessica asked, "Amelia, if I can't come to your wedding, am I still someone that you love?"
Amelia answered without hesitation, "Why are you asking that? You'll always be my best friend!"
"Amelia!" All of a sudden, Jessica threw herself at Amelia and hugged her. Jessica laid her face on Amelia's chest and burst into tears. "You're the best person in the world! I love you the most! If I were a man, I would have snatched you from Patrick!"
Wayne quietly acted as if he did not hear her. For Amelia's sake, he pretended not to have overheard these disrespectful remarks about Bro Patrick.
Ten minutes later.
Amelia walked out of the dressing room, already changed to her set of clothes that she wore when she left home. As for the wedding dress, she handed it over to the clerk and said, "Please help me wrap it up."
The clerk received it happily and went to pack it.
Wayne asked softly, "Amelia, don't you want to try out other stores? You should compare deals." "Yea, it's still early. Let's go shopping for a while more!" Jessica expressed excitedly.
Amelia turned to look at Jessica and said, "We can go shopping, but not for me. For you."
Jessica asked in puzzlement, "For me? I don't have anything to shop for!"
Amelia was speechless by Jessica's slowness. "You have to lay low soon. Wayne already told you about the shopping conditions of Houwen Village. Are you sure you don't want to buy anything?"
"Ah... Yes! I want to get facial masks! Sun-cream! Sanitary pads!" When Jessica listed this, her face flushed red from embarrassment in an instant because she had forgotten that Wayne was still with them.
When Wayne escorted the two ladies back to Land of Fragrance, they ran into Patrick, who had just gone home from work.
After Wayne greeted Patrick, he quickly left. Patrick had implanted such a tremendous trauma on him that any idea about going into Patrick's house for a cup of tea vanished.
After a glance at the bags that Wayne had gently placed on the ground before he left, Patrick looked at Amelia and asked in a soft tone, "Did you guys go choose your wedding dress?" "Hmm." Amelia remembered that she had told him about it.
"Did Wayne send you two there?"
"Hmm," Amelia answered.
Patrick's eyes darkened. "He saw you in the wedding dress?"
Amelia did not reply.
Jessica, who was drinking water, almost choked. After wishing Amelia good luck' with a look with her eyes, Jessica silently took the cup and sat a little further away from the couple.
Amelia's silence had answered Patrick's question.
But Patrick did not get angry. However, he secretly held a grudge against Wayne as he said, "You've been shopping all afternoon. Are you tired? Have a rest. I'll make dinner."
While blinking her eyes, Jessica pretended to be unfazed and said, "Amelia, me and Sierra are leaving now!"
Amelia suppressed her sorrow and smiled at Jesicca. "Okay, be careful on the road. We'll keep in touch when you get there!"
Jessica nodded. "Mr. Morris said the signal there is poor. I may not be able to contact you often, but it doesn't matter. Mr. Morris can deliver the messages for us." "Right, Wayne's brave and trustworthy. If anything happens between you and Sierra, you have to tell him immediately. Do you understand?" Amelia held Jessica's arm and said.
"Got it." Jessica looked at Amelia, and her eyes showed that she was reluctant to be part with Amelia. "Can I hug you before I say goodbye?"
Amelia did not reply. Then, she stepped forward and hugged Jessica and her daughter tightly. Amelia did not want to cry this time because she believed that the temporary separation was for a better reunion. She would wait for Jessica to return!
After they hesitantly let go of each other, Jessica turned her gaze and said to Patrick, who was silent, "Patrick Hopper, don't ever bully Amelia! Otherwise, you'll end up the same as Sawyer Quartley!"
Patrick raised a brow slightly and said in a low voice, "If I don't treat her well, you don't have to come after me. I'll stab myself."
Jessica was taken aback for a moment before laughing. "Fine. Remember what you said! Like a man!"
"Mama!" "Papa!"
Then, the child's voice rang in their ears.
When they looked over, they saw that Sierra was stretching out her arms, wanting a hug from Amelia and Patrick.
However, one of the addresses was weird. It was nothing wrong when Sierra called Amelia 'Mama', but she had called Patrick 'Papa' too.
Noticing Patrick's frown, Jessica said sheepishly, "I didn't teach her 'Papa'. I only taught her 'Mama'!"
"We know that." Amelia explained on Jessica's behalf, "In fact, when you were on the island, Sierra had already started calling Mr. Hopper 'Papa'. Perhaps it's because Mr. Hopper changed her diaper and fed her."
"I don't think so!" Jessica glared at Sierra, who had embarrassed her. "This kid must be snobbish. She knows how to ride on coattails even when she's a child!"
This time, even Patrick showed a faint smile. He reached out to smooth Sierra's soft hair and said, "If you can't stay with your Mommy, you can come back to find Mama and Papa."
"Hey, Patrick Hopper, what are you saying?" Jessica stopped caring about her embarrassment and bared her teeth at Patrick.
The dejected atmosphere had dispersed, and Amelia looked up at Patrick with gratitude. The couple then watched as Jessica and her daughter got into Wayne's car and slowly disappeared from their sight.
