Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1687

In L.A..

After the DNA test, Sawyer no longer locked Amelia up. He allowed her to move freely around the villa equipped with golf course, gym, movie theater, library, game hall, and swimming pool. He seemed to be very sincere.

However, Amelia knew that once she had the idea of running away, the foreign men in the villa, who were almost two meters tall, would immediately raise their guns and aim at her.

Therefore, it was better for her to be obedient.

She had been pregnant for more than four months, so she not only had a great rise in weight but also had some indigestion problems. No wonder the doctor had advised her to move around more during the last maternity test.

It was true that she could not get out, but fortunately the villa was big enough. Sawyer had told her that the area took up four acres and it was enough for her to run wild.

However, what attracted her the most was the game hall in the villa. It had a huge screen inlaid on the wall and came with many games from all around the world. Other than the fact that it was not connected to the Internet, the games were enough for her to play until her eighties.

When she had nothing to do, Amelia would go to the library.

When she saw a bunch of famous books in their original editions without being translated, Amelia could not help but curse Sawyer as a 'poser' in her heart. Could he truly understand the various languages from all countries?

Of course, if it was Patrick, she would definitely praise him for being very knowledgeable. Yes, she was of double standard!

Just as Amelia was looking around the bookshelves, a deep voice came from not far away. "I thought you were only interested in playing games."

Amelia stopped and turned around following the source of the voice.

She saw a large circle area in the library being surrounded by sofas. On the round table in the middle, there were a pot of Rosemary in full bloom and a delicate ceramic cup. The owner of the items was Sawyer, who was talking to her.

The wound scratched by her on his face had already scabbed. While Amelia was suddenly curious about how he would have explained it to Sissi.

While thinking, she responded to his question, "I usually play online games, but you provide only game tapes here. The feeling of playing with others and playing alone are still different."

Sawyer had already lowered his head and continued reading after making fun of her. But after he heard her words at the moment, he put a finger between the pages and placed the book on his crossed knee. He raised his head again and looked at her, "Are you blaming me for not letting you surf the internet, sister?"

Amelia automatically ignored him calling "sister" and replied naturally, "No, I'm just giving you my feedback on the game hall. After all, it'll inevitably become boring after watching many gaming tapes."

Sawyer could not help but raise his brows as he heard this. "Then try reading."

He raised the ceramic cup on the table and said, "Look opposite you, there are a coffee machine, a juice machine and a water dispenser with both heating and cooling functions. You can just help yourself."

After Amelia nodded, she remembered something and asked, "When did you come?"

"This morning." answered Sawyer casually.

Amelia gave a faint respond and went to pour herself a glass of water. She then took an English book, and sat down on the sofa on his left side.

Sawyer got interested by her choice of seat. He had thought that she would choose the furthest seat from him, it was out of his expectation...

"Jane Eyre?" He then noticed the book in her hand.

"Yes, as I can't read any other languages." Amelia said, almost self-deprecating.

Sawyer said thoughtfully, "The main character of the book is not only a young woman, but also an orphan pursuing her own status..."

The corners of Amelia's mouth twitched. "Wait, why do I feel like you're alluding me?"

"Don't get me wrong. I'm just describing the character. Besides, you're no longer an orphan." Sawyer gave her a hypocritical smile.

Amelia took the opportunity to ask, "You said that I am Uncle Quartley's daughter. Then when can I go visit my dad?"

Sawyer replied her with a condition, "As long as you perform well."

Amelia asked keenly, "What does it take to have a good performance?"

Sawyer took a deep look at her. "To make a clean break with Patrick, are you able to?"

Amelia said half-jokingly, "Give me a phone and I'll call him now for the break up."

"How would it be that simple." Sawyer said in a doting and contemptuous manner as if he was treating an immature little girl, "I will come up with some ideas for you, don't worry, okay?"

Looking at Sawyer's smiling face, Amelia felt like pinching him again.

Gradually, the sunlight from the window behind Sawyer had completely dimmed, while being replaced by a hazy color.

At the moment, Sawyer closed the book that he had turned to the last page. After stretching himself, he looked at Amelia.

Amelia had only read one-third of the book. Her delicate eyebrows would furrow and relax from time to time. So he said to her softly, "If you have any unfamiliar words that you don't understand, feel free to ask me."

Amelia raised her head and looked at him. "Will you come tomorrow?"

Sawyer could not help but ask as he saw her gaze fall on the cover of the book, "Why, are you also interested in this?"

"No, I just think that you are as cool as the character in 'Godfather'."

Flattery would always be pleasing to the ear. Amelia had undoubtedly given a reply that most men would be satisfied with. Sawyer nodded his head and said, "Well, your mind is actually different from other women."

"Of course it's different. I'm a fan of good looks. Handsome men could be forgiven even if they destroy the world." Amelia smiled at him wittily.

Perhaps the little fox had not put on lipstick, but honey instead?

Although Sawyer did not show it on his face, he actually felt joy from the bottom of his heart.

Amelia secretly looked at his face up and down. After confirming that he did not seem to be angry, she glanced at the Rosemary on the table and said casually, "As far as I know, in addition to Rosemary, lavender and wormwood are also useful in calming the nerves."

Sawyer looked at her in surprise. "Are you familiar with plants as well?"

"A little bit. As women are always obsessed with all kinds of perfume and essential oil, so... you know."

As she had not deliberately showed off, it made Sawyer nod his head, "If you like it, I can ask to prepare it for you tomorrow."

"Really?" Amelia pretended to be flattered. "Can I ask for a pot of lavender?"

"Yes." Sawyer would not reject such a simple request of hers. Just like how Amelia was working hard to gain his good impression and trust, he also needed hers.

So Amelia had spent the morning with occasional conversation with Sawyer...

Near noon, Amelia put down the book gently and asked inadvertently, "It's noon. Do you want to stay for lunch?"

The expression in Sawyer's eyes changed slightly, as if he was considering something. After a moment, he said, "Alright."

"I heard from Kaiden that you cook well."

In fact, it was Jessica who had told her that. But Amelia knew that telling the truth would undoubtedly evoke Sawyer's unhappy memories, so she used Kaiden as a cover-up. "I wonder if I could have the honor to taste your cooking?"

Sawyer stared at the little fox who was smiling in an exceptionally innocent manner in front of him. He actually did not know what she was up to all of a sudden. If she was trying to please him, should she not personally cook for him instead?

But it did not matter. He thought that he could show her the difference between himself and Patrick, the good- for- nothing. Otherwise, she would not know how charming a man could be while cooking.
