Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1964

Seeing that Jarvy's interrogation was coming to an end, the policeman standing beside Hobart warned, "Hobart, the suspect is coming out of the interrogation room. You'd better avoid him."

Hobart did not move.

The policeman advised again, "Hobart, if you have a physical conflict with him here, you will be in trouble."

Hobart took a deep breath and turned to leave.

But instead of returning home, he went to look for Maryanne.

"Brother?" Maryanne was slightly surprised to see Hobart return, afraid that he would come making things difficult for Milton again.

Hobart glanced at the man sitting beside his sister's bed and whispered to Maryanne, "I'm worried about you being here alone, so I came here to keep you company."

Milton thought, "Alone? It's obvious that he treats me as nothing."

"Brother, you're too much. I have Milton with me. Don't pretend that he doesn't exist." Maryanne softly complained and asked, "Didn't you go to find Jarvy to settle accounts? How did it go?"

Hobart's handsome face froze slightly and he said, "I will definitely make him confess his crime."

"That is to say, he hasn't admitted his guilt yet?" Milton interrupted.

"Can you shut up?" Hobart was only trying to placate his sister.

Milton said firmly, "This matter is not only related to Maryanne but also to me. I have the right to know the details."

"If you want to know, go to the police station on your own. Don't treat me as a free informant!"

In fact, Hobart couldn't tell them the details because he had heard how sharp- tongued Jarvy was! He couldn't say anything to disgust Maryanne anymore!

Maryanne said, "Brother, Milton is just talking to you. Can you stop being so rude?"

Hobart thought that she was biased! His face was still swollen, why didn't she care about him?

Maryanne was now full of confidence. After Milton had saved her, she started lecturing Hobart, "Brother, you should know who is truly good to me now, right?

I hope that you can reflect on your mistakes. Of course, if you are willing to apologize, we can consider forgiving you."

Hobart picked up Maryanne's sheets with his hand and said, "I admit that I've done you a disservice. I chose Jarvy for you. You should blame me no matter what. I will make it up to you in the future.”

Maryanne was a little displeased after listening to his words. "Brother, did you miss out on one thing?" she asked as she turned her beautiful eyes toward Milton.

Hobart was silent.

Milton shook his head at Maryanne silently, indicating that there was no need to be in such a hurry.

Maryanne did not force her brother to apologize to Milton.

She yawned and hinted to Hobart, "Brother, I'm going to sleep."

Hobart stroked her head and said softly, "Sleep, I'll be watching over you."

"There's no need for that, right?" Maryanne felt a little awkward. "You should go back and keep our parents accompanied. Right now, you're their only child."

Hobart said, "In that case, why don't I take you home now? The bed at home is so big and soft, it's more comfortable than the hospital's."

"No way." Milton said in a deep voice.

Hobart looked at him with an unfriendly expression. "Why not?"

If Hobart brought Maryanne home, would she be able to go out in the future?

Milton thought about it and said, "Maryanne has been poisoned. I plan to ask the doctor to examine her again tomorrow morning so as not to leave any sequelae."

Hobart listened and remained silent. No matter how much he wished for Maryanne to go home with him, he did not want to joke with her body. "Alright, I'll sleep here tonight."

In the end, he said to Milton unhappily, "As for you, get out of my way."

Milton replied, "If you want to fight, I'll accompany you at any time. But if you want me to get lost, I can't do it."

Hobart rolled up his sleeves and said, "Do you really think that I don't dare to beat a cripple like you?"

Seeing that her brother and lover were at loggerheads as usual, Maryanne, who was lying on the hospital bed, suddenly coughed.

Hobart and Milton turned to look at her, their expressions as tense as ever.

Maryanne stopped coughing and said, "Brother, if you're staying because you want to quarrel, then you'd better go home. It's not easy to escape from this ordeal. I just want to be with Milton now."

Hobart could hear his sister's subtext, "You're just a third wheel. If you want to stay behind, you should try to keep your glow as low as possible. Otherwise, you'll be the one to get lost."

Hobart held his chest and silently walked to the window.

However, his eyes were full of resentment. Instead of enjoying the scenery outside the window, he stared at Milton. Once he made physical contact with Maryanne, he immediately made a sound of grinding teeth.

After helping Maryanne to tuck in, Milton kissed her between her eyebrows and said calmly, "Go to sleep."

This scene made Hobart nervous.

He wanted to go over and kick Milton's ass, but he knew that this would only arouse his sister's annoyance.

He had already hurt her so badly, so he would better behave himself.

Maryanne wrapped her arms around Milton's neck and bit his ear. "My brother has been glaring at you. If he hit you when I fall asleep, you must wake me up."

"It's okay, go ahead and sleep."

"Hmm," Hobart replied reluctantly.

Milton gave Maryanne an obedient smile.

Maryanne breathed a sigh of relief and the three of them got in Hobart's car. Although they had to settle accounts with Jarvy, they had to first fill their stomach.

Hobart, who was driving, looked at Maryanne in the rearview mirror and asked softly, "Maryanne, what would you like to eat?"

After hearing that, Maryanne immediately turned to ask Milton, who was next to her, "Dear, what do you want to eat?"

"Cough!" Hobart was displeased and glared at Milton through the rearview mirror. It was him who had stolen all of his sister's attention!

Milton, who was being stared at by Hobart, replied, "Maryanne, I'll listen to you."

Maryanne turned to look at Hobart, who was right in front of her. "Brother, you can make the decision for us. We're not picky."

Hearing this, Hobart's heart ached. Maryanne, who was used to being pampered, had become more and more depraved ever since she started being with this man.

Now, she might be able to eat happily even if he only bought her soy milk and fried dough

sticks!

But his heart ached to death for her.

Finally, Hobart brought them to a teahouse and ordered more than 30 courses of pastries in one breath. He did not stop until the round table was all filled up.

Maryanne was stunned. "Brother, this is too much..."

Hobart could not hide the pain in his heart as he reminded her, "Have you forgotten that you used to order like this?"

"Is that so?" Maryanne thought for a moment and thought that it seemed to be the case. "Then I'm really sorry for causing you and our parents to spend so much money."

She had always been pampered and didn't know how hard life was. She could order as she liked when she was happy, not to mention the simple breakfast.

But now, hearing her brother's words in front of Milton, she suddenly felt embarrassed.

She could swear that when she ate something, she would definitely order lesser in order not to waste food.

When Hobart heard that she apologized to him and his parents for a table of dishes, he was both shocked and resentful.

However, the target of his resentment was Milton. It was this guy who brought Maryanne into poverty!

The most precious daughter of the Home of Smith did not need such good quality, because their family made money so that Maryanne could spend as she pleased.

Milton was speechless because of his glare. Did he forget that Maryanne was living in a five- star hotel and was eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner made by the chef?

So could Hobart not look as if Maryanne was eating trash? This made his stomach ache!
