The two policemen said nothing further.

“Alright, let’s go.”

Rachel was about to throw off the sheets when Tyler stopped her, concern in his eyes.

“Are you sure your body can take it right now?”

“Don’t worry, I’ve more or less recovered.”

Rachel felt traces of that suffocating feeling when she woke up earlier, but it was all gone now.

Tyler held Rachel with one hand, still worried. “Let me help you. You should still be careful.”

Rachel glanced at him. “Thank you.”

When they arrived at the police station, they saw Sawyer and the other two men.

“What proof do you have?” Sawyer said, stretching a hand out toward Anne.

Anne clenched her fists, unsure of what to say. She didn’t have any proof. Why were definitions of sexual assault so blurry nowadays? Must the assault be realized and a medical examination be done for the assault to be true?

Fire was burning in Anne’s chest, a strong urge in her to cut them into pieces rising.

When Rachel saw Anne on the verge of an emotional breakdown, she stepped forward to hold Anne. “Don’t be provoked by them. I know justice will be served. I’m sure something can be done.”

Anne gradually calmed down with Rachel’s comforting words, but the hatred was still deep in her eyes as she glared at the three men.

Sawyer stuck his hands in his pockets as he looked arrogantly at Rachel, slowly approaching her.

“Lady, did you really think that all would be well after calling the police? Did you really think that getting a handsome man on your side would solve all your problems?”

Sawyer even stretched a hand out, ready to pinch Rachel’s chin. However, the frightening look in Tyler’s eyes scared him away.

Sawyer cleared his throat awkwardly before sitting back down.
