Chapter 803
“Yeah, it’s all done. They said she can be released tomorrow,” Jerry said.
“In that case, come with me tomorrow,” Rachel said.
Jerry was confused. “Why? I was hoping Yvette would stay there for at least a week, or maybe even two. The fact that she’s getting out this soon is already bad enough. Why would you even want to pick her up?”
There are things I need to make clear with her. Now that she’s out, she’s like a ticking time bomb. If we don’t keep her in check, when she explodes later, it could put us in danger,” Rachel said.
Only then did Jerty understand what Rachel meant.
There would be a warning first, then harsher measures if needed.
It made sense. It was better to get ahead of Yvette before she struck.
“Got it. Call me tomorrow, I’ll come get you.”
“Alright.”
After hanging up, Rachel collapsed onto the bed.
Tyler came out, and both of them were exhausted. Before long, Tyler fell asleep holding Rachel. These days, he didn’t always need her to sing him to sleep anymore.
The next morning, Rachel slipped out quietly while Tyler was still asleep, not wanting him to fuss over her like a nagging old lady.
She glanced at his handsome face. People often said no one looked good while sleeping, but Tyler was an exception. He still looked handsome as he always did.
Thinking about how he had gone out of his way yesterday to bring Sunny back just to surprise her, Rachel felt a wave of warmth in her chest.
On impulse, she leaned down and planted a quick kiss on his face before hurrying out. Once she was sure he hadn’t woken, she finally left.
On her way out, she spotted Sunny and Ray sprawled together on the couch. They were fast asleep and looked completely at ease.
Seeing them so peaceful filled Rachel with an inexplicable sense of happiness.
She didn’t disturb them and headed out.
Jerry was already waiting at the door. She got into the car, and he handed her the breakfast he’d picked up.
“Eat something first.”
“No, I don’t really have much of an appetite in the morning.”
As soon as she said that, her stomach churned, and she retched twice out the window.

Jerry grew worried. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick? Should I take you to the hospital?”
“No. I’ve just been skipping breakfasts lately. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. If I eat something now, it’ll pass.”
She took the breakfast from him. Thankfully, he had chosen something bland. Oily food only made her nausea
worse.
The car pulled up beneath a sycamore tree outside the detention center.
Rachel removed her sunglasses and turned to Jerry. “Did you bring what I asked for?”
