“Yale, you can’t tell Tyler. He finally got his drive back, ready to rebuild the company from the ground up. If you drop this on him now, you know exactly what he’d do.”

“Knowing Mr. Hunt, he’d probably sell LS Enterprise just to cover the gap. Or worse, he might declare bankruptcy outright,” Yale said.

Rachel looked him straight in the eye. “And you think that’s what you want to see happen?”

Her words were sharp and direct, cutting right to the point.

Yale’s silence said it all. He didn’t want Tyler to sell off the company just to fix Rachel’s problem. He had been by Tyler’s side too long and knew better than anyone how capable he was. Tyler didn’t deserve to lose it all.

Rachel noticed the guilt in Yale’s eyes, and she understood. Truthfully, she didn’t see it as a burden. ·

“Yale, don’t beat yourself up. None of this matters. Just like you, I’m doing it for Tyler’s sake.”

Yale inhaled deeply. At that moment, he made a decision. “Ms. Lloyd, I’ve always been Mr. Hunt’s right hand, but from now on, I’m yours too. Whatever you need, whatever you ask, I’ll do everything I can to help.”

Rachel waved it off. “You don’t have to go that far.”

Along the way, Mark handed out bottles of water, but when it came to Rachel, he gave her a thermos

instead.

Rachel blinked in surprise. “Why did you give me a thermos?”

“You’ve always had stomach issues. You should take better care of yourself.”
