William’s heart fell as he gripped his phone tight.
He remembered how he had designed Rachel’s wedding gown, every stroke encompassing the love and expectations he had for their union.
Back then, he kept promising her, “We’ll hold our wedding after I’m done with this project.”
Eventually, he never gave her the wedding he promised her. Hell, he even treated her so callously.
William saw the beautiful gown Rachel tried on and Tyler standing next to her, willing to go through every single dress in the shop for her. The smile on her face was etched with a sense of security that he had never seen on her before.
Seeing the loving couple through the glass, his throat constricted. He said to his business partner, “Apologies, let’s head to the site to check things out. If you think it’s suitable, we can sign the contract right away.”
“Sure.”
Once Tyler and Rachel were done selecting their outfits, they headed to a hotel they wanted to book as their banquet venue.
In consideration of Rachel’s state right now, Tyler had wanted her to get more rest. Rachel, on the other hand, took the wedding very seriously and wanted to do everything herself.
Tyler couldn’t outwit her and had to agree to it. After they were done discussing things with the hotel manager, the first thing Rachel did after they left the hotel was to vomit all over a trash can right outside.
Tyler saw badly Rachel was vomiting, yet could do nothing about it.
“Why don’t we visit the hospital and see if Xavier has something to help with the nausea? As for the rest of the wedding preparations, you can either let me handle them or make the decisions at home while I check out the venues in person. What do you think?”
“No need for that,” Rachel said with a wave of her hand as she took the water bottle from Tyler. “Vomiting and nausea are normal during pregnancy. Don’t panic. All pregnant ladies suffer from morning sickness.”
Tyler was panicking, feeling helpless as stood idly by, watching Rachel suffer.
He had heard about pregnant ladies experiencing a change in flavor and taste preferences,
“Is there something you have a craving for? Something sour or spicy?”
The mention of food whetted Rachel’s appetite. She turned to look at him. “How about oranges? The less ripe, the better.”
“I’ll get them right away! Wait here for me, I’ll be back soon.”
With that, Tyler drove to the nearest supermarket.
Before Rachel could stop Tyler, he was already gone. Her shoulders drooped as she shook her head helplessly.
