Chapter 229
Chapter 229
In Norava, Amelia waited every single day for news from Paloma, the anxiety eating away at her.
Paloma was decisive–once she said she’d do something, she never hesitated to make it happen.
But what worried them most now was how Landon would react.
‘Would he really trust Paloma? And if Monica found out, would they all be in danger?‘ she wondered.
“Amelia, we’ve got news!” Tuff burst into the CEO’s office, phone in hand.
Amelia shot up from her seat, her heart pounding. “What’s going on?”
“Landon believed Paloma’s words. They’re already planning to take down the Kington Gang together,” Tuff said, practically buzzing with excitement.
It was a huge relief–Landon not only believed what happened in the past, but he was already focused on their mission.
An inside–outside collaboration like this was their best shot at wiping out the Kington Gang.
“They’re being way too bold…” Amelia frowned, worry etched on her face.
Honestly, she’d hoped Landon would come home first so they could talk things through before making any moves.
“Amelia, you can’t catch a tiger cub without going into the den,” Tuff said, trying to reassure her. “We have to trust Landon’s abilities.”
Amelia let out a sigh. “Did Paloma say anything else?”
“No, that’s it,” Tuff replied.
“Then… is there anything else I can do?” Amelia asked, her voice laced with helplessness.
“Amelia, you really don’t need to do anything. Just wait it out,” Tuff replied.
Just like that, a few words sentenced her to an endless, uncertain wait.
Amelia dropped her gaze in sorrow, her delicate fists tightening in her lap.
“Amelia, Aiden still has his eyes on you. Right now, doing nothing is honestly the smartest move,” Tuff reminded her.
Amelia finally unclenched her fists. “You’re right! I won’t make things harder for us.”
“Thanks, Amelia,” Tuff said.
Just as Tuff had said, even though Aiden couldn’t show up every day to mess with Amelia, he was always keeping tabs on her.
He paid close attention to everyone she met and everywhere she went–nothing slipped past him.
For days, Amelia‘ routine was simple: work, home, repeat.
Aiden finally felt a bit more at ease. When he called Monica, he couldn’t help but gloat. “Amelia’s given up. She’s all going on your end?”
“It’s going fine. He’s really obedient, but… in that department, he’s still just not up to it,” Monica said, her voice full of regret.

up on Amelia.
But Landon just couldn’t do it, and there was nothing she could do about that.
“Monica, don’t stress. Once you win his heart, the rest will come naturally,” Aiden said, sounding like he was the expert here.
Monica snorted, “Oh yeah? And what exactly have you gotten from Amelia?”
Aiden was lost for words.
He hadn’t gotten anything at all except for a poisoned body.
“Cousin, you have to keep trying too!” Monica encouraged him.
The two of them shared a moment of mutual understanding.
After hanging up, Monica swayed her hips as she went to find Landon. “Honey, what are you up to? Is your headache acting up today?”
‘It hurts. It really hurts,‘ Landon thought, gritting his teeth.
But he forced himself to bear it.
Paloma had told him that if he stopped taking the medication, there was a chance his memories could come back.
If he didn’t, he’d end up like her–never remembering the past.
“It doesn’t hurt,” Landon said, his voice tight with control.
“That’s great! It means the treatment is working,” Monica said, pulling out another pill. “Here, take today’s dose.”
Landon took the pills but didn’t take them right away.
Monica urged him, “What’s wrong?”
“I’m just wondering if this medicine is affecting my… performance,” Landon said, looking at the pill in his hand.
Monica was momentarily taken aback.
‘Why didn’t I think of that before?‘ she thought to herself.
“Maybe we should skip it today?” Monica suggested.
“Forget it, let’s just deal with the headache first,” Landon said, pretending to swallow the pill as he popped it into his mouth.
Monica didn’t know what to say.
“Every time I take these pills, I get so sleepy. Let’s just go to bed,” Landon said, lying down and closing his eyes.
He pulled Monica into his arms and quickly fell asleep, while Monica, stuck in the embrace of this hunk, couldn’t do a thing and could only stew in her
frustration.
She was starting to get seriously agitated.
‘Is curing a headache really more important than my sex life?‘ she grumbled to herself.
No way–she had to head back to headquarters and find out if this medicine was screwing with his performance or not.
She quietly got up and headed straight to headquarters.

As soon as she left the room, Landon opened his eyes, spat out the pill he’d been holding in his mouth, and flushed it down the toilet.
Then, he took one of the pills Paloma had given him.
His head started pounding like crazy. Landon clutched his head, gritting his teeth, trying his best not to make a sound.
But the pain was too intense–he couldn’t help but tremble.
By the time the pain finally subsided, his shirt was soaked through with sweat.
But his mind was clearer than it had ever been.
Memories from the past started flooding back, one after another.
He saw himself lying in bed, a vegetable. He saw Amelia running the company by listening to his thoughts. He saw Gloria crying her eyes out for him…
“I’m Landon, Amelia’s husband…” Landon whispered, his voice trembling with a mix of excitement and pain, his eyes welling up with tears.
Everything Paloma had said was true.
With the help of the special meds and sheer willpower, he finally fought off the chip’s control–his memories finally came rushing back.
“Honey…” Landon whispered, his heart aching.
‘She must have suffered so much while I was gone,‘ he thought, the pain in his chest almost unbearable.
‘All this time I wasn’t home, she had to carry everything on her own.‘
It was all his fault–he had no one else to blame.
If he hadn’t fallen for Patrick’s trap, he wouldn’t have been captured by the Kington Gang, wouldn’t have lost his memory, and wouldn’t have ended up in Monica’s hands.
“Amelia, I’m so sorry…” Landon whispered painfully, his heart twisting with regret.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. “Knock, knock! Are you in there?”
It was Paloma, his beloved big sister.
Landon jumped out of bed, rushed to the door, and pulled Paloma inside. “Sis…”
“You remembered everything, didn’t you?” Paloma said with a relieved smile. “Landon, I’m so proud of you!”
“Sis, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry…” Landon kept repeating, “If it weren’t for me, you never would have been kidnapped…”
“Honestly, I’m grateful I was the one who took your place back then,” Paloma said with a gentle smile, softly patting his back. “Landon, I still haven’t remembered the past, and I don’t even remember you at all. But… I truly don’t blame you.”
Only blood relatives, only love that runs so deep, could make someone act so selflessly.
Landon finally couldn’t hold back his tears. “Sis…”
“Alright, now’s not the time to be sad. We need to figure out how to take down the Kington Gang,” Paloma said
‘ow voice.
Landon let go of her and nodded firmly. “Sis, ve already planted the tracker you gave me on Monica. She went back to headquarters today, so we’ll have the map soon.”
“Okay!”

Paloma breathed a huge sigh of relief, patting Landon’s shoulder. “I’m glad I came to find you. You’re even more capable than i
“Sis, I’ll get in touch with the Flying Tiger Sect and start planning our takedown,” Landon said.
“Okay,” Paloma replied.
Nobody knew what Monica had done at headquarters, but when she came back, she looked really upset.
Landon asked gently, “What happened?”
“My dad yelled at me,” Monica said, pouting and looking all pitiful.
“Why?” Landon asked, keeping a straight face.
He didn’t let any emotion show.
‘Nice, that means Monica went to see her dad–so wherever the tracker pinged today, that’s gotta be the Kington Gang’s headquarters, Landon thought, feeling a surge of satisfaction.
“I questioned the doctor’s skills and ended up getting into a scuffle with him…” Monica complained, pouting,
Landon chuckled. “Does your hand hurt? Want me to blow on it for you?”
“It doesn’t hurt. But honestly, I really think there’s something off about that medicine. I even suspect my dad did it on purpose,” Monica said, her tone full of doubt. “Honey, what should we do? You can’t stop taking that medicine…“,
“Don’t worry, let’s just focus on treating the headaches for now. We can deal with everything else later,” Landon said, taking Monica’s hand and looking it
oyer carefully.
He actually looked like he really cared about her for once.
Monica felt her heart turn to mush and threw herself into his arms, acting all cute. “Honey, I’m exhausted today. Let’s go for a swim together–just the two of us, okay?”
Landon had been dying for a reason to get out of the house, so he jumped at the chance. “Sure, where do you want to go?”
“There’s a pool at home,” Monica suggested.
“Nah, that’s way too small,” Landon shot back.
Landon shook his head. “Besides, I prefer hot springs.”
“Oh, is that so? I’ll make the arrangements,” Monica replied.
She was practically glowing with excitement.
Ever since she brought him back, he’d never agreed to bathe together.
Now that he finally said yes, she was determined not to let this opportunity slip by.
As long as she could get Landon interested, setting up a huge pool was no big deal at all.
Before long, Monica had everything sorted out.
She booked out a nearby hot spring hotel and took Landon there for a swim.
She brought a ton of stuff with her, including some aphrodisiacs.

But when she saw Paloma downstairs, she panicked, worried Paloma might tag along. So she quickly said, “Paloma, o’ts grang on a date. You say
home!”
“Nah, I’m heading back,” Paloma said, her tone lazy but still carrying that air of elegance.
“Right now?” Monica blinked in surprise.
Paloma replied, “My little brother already booked my flight–he said Landen misses me.”
“Then you should hurry back!” Monica said eagerly, more than happy to see her go.
“Yeah, you two go enjoy your date. I’ll just grab my things and head out,” Paloma said.
“Alright,” Paloma replied.
Monica immediately grabbed Landon and hurried out with him.
She had no clue that all of this was actually a setup between Landon and Paloma,
The hot spring hotel was cleared out and reserved just for the two of them–no one else around, total VIP treatment.
Landon was all smiles, showering Monica with sweet talk and even personally handed her a glass of milk to drink.
Before long, Monica was floating on cloud nine and drifted off to sleep.
Landon got up and quietly slipped out of the hotel.
Paloma had already been waiting outside for quite some time.
Tonight, she was dressed in sharp leather from head to toe, looking fierce and confident. “Did you handle her?”
“Yeah,” Landon replied.
Landon opened the car door and got in. “As planned.”
“Tonight’s gonna be epic!” Paloma said, her red lips curling into a smirk as she floored the gas pedal.
They sped off toward the city where the Kington Gang was headquartered.
‘Let’s bring the fight to them! Time for payback!‘ Landon thought, adrenaline surging through his veins.
‘Bring it on! Let the storm hit even harder!‘ he told himself, eyes blazing with determination.
Ten minutes later, the notorious Kington Gang–feared across the globe–was suddenly dealt a crushing blow.
The elite of the Flying Tiger Sect, together with Interpol, launched a well–planned assault on the Kington Gang.
A surprise attack was one thing, but what really shocked everyone was that they knew the headquarters‘ layout inside out.
Soon enough, the Kington Gang started losing ground.
With flames lighting up the night sky, Landon and Paloma stood shoulder to shoulder, the faces aglow in the
The Kington Gang might have branches all over the world, but so what?
Cut off the head and the body falls–if they could take down the heads of the Kyle and Montgomery families tonight, the Kington Gang would be finished for good.
Then, they could finally go home without worries and get back to living a normal life.

“Landon, you’re seriously something else! Even in that mess, you managed to get your memories back,” Tuff said, striding over in full gear, grinning like goofball.
“All thanks to my sister’s medicine,” Landon replied, glancing back–only to be surprised to see a man standing next to Kayla. It was Brian
Brian smiled apologetically. “Sorry that I haven’t been able to fully cure you all yet.”
“Thanks,” Landon said simply.
Landon gave Brian a meaningful look, then glanced over at Tuff.
Tuff, feeling stifled for way too long, shoved a gun into Landon’s hand. “You’ve been holding it in for ages–go raise some hell!”
