“Is it over? Where’s Landon? When can I see him?” Amelia blurted out, her hand pressed tightly to her chest, voice frembling with excitement

She’d barely gotten the news that the Kington Gang had been wiped out before she dashed straight to the police station, not even stopping to catch f

She saw Aiden being led away in handcuffs with her own eyes, but there was still no sign of Landon anywhere.

She was happy but still anxious.

Daniel finished exchanging information with the police and turned to her with a wide grin. “It’s over. Landon will be back soon

“Oh, this is wonderful, this is wonderful…” Amelia’s eyes filled with tears of relief.

Amelia was so overwhelmed with joy that she started crying. ‘Even if he doesn’t remember me, it doesn’t matter, she thought, her voice trembling as she said, “As long as he comes back safe and sound…”

Daniel wanted to tell her that Landon had already regained his memory, but he held back.

Daniel held back, thinking, ‘It’s better if Landon tells her himself.

These days apart had been pure torment for both of them.

“Don’t worry, he’s already on his way back,” Daniel said with a reassuring smile. “I heard he was fighting all night yesterday. Maybe you should get ready to see him.”

“What? He was in the thick of it? Did he get hurt?” Amelia’s nerves instantly shot up, her heart pounding with anxiety.

‘With bullets flying everywhere, it’s almost impossible not to get caught in the crossfire,‘ she thought, fear twisting in her chest.

‘He’s still got amnesia–his head really can’t take another hit,’ she thought, anxiety twisting in her gut.

“He was really brave. Just some scratches and bruises,” Daniel reassured her.

“Whew!” Amelia finally let out a breath she’d been holding.

But then, the thought of the chip in Landon’s head made her heart clench all over again.

To make sure Landon got the best and most timely care, Amelia had Wesley make sure everything was ready at the hospital.

She herself brought a bouquet of bright red roses and went straight to the airport to wait for him.

Daniel and Edith stayed by her side, genuinely happy for her.

Amelia waited at the airport for more than five hours, her heart pounding with every passing minute, until finally–Landon appeared.

As soon as she spotted his figure in the distance, Amelia didn’t care about anything else. She bolted straight toward him and dove into his arms. “Honey, you’re finally back…”

“I’m sorry,” Landon said softly.

He took the bouquet of roses from her with one hand, and with the other, carefully pulled her into a gentle embra

On the flight home, he’d replayed everything from the past over and over in his mind.

He had a thousand things he wanted to say to her, but when they finally met, all that came out was an awkward, choked, “I’m sorry.”

The emotions between them were so intense, words just couldn’t do them justice.

“Honey, honey!” Amelia called out again and again, her voice breaking as she sobbed uncontrollably.

Landon held her close, gently pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “I’m back, and I’m never leaving again…”

“Okay! Let’s go to the hospital,” Amelia said, finally pulling away to look him over from head to toe.

He was dressed neatly, with no visible injuries and not a trace of the battle left on him.

“I even took a shower and changed on the plane just so I could look my best for you,” Kayla appeared, smiling as she spoke.
