The next day at noon, Landon’s family arrived in Lunova. Daniel picked them up and took them straight to the Zuckerberg family.
Edith was about to give birth. With her mother having passed away early and her father too intimidated by the Zuckerberg family to visit, she felt a wave of relief when Amelia arrived.
Amelia’s presence made her feel like she finally had an anchor.
“Amy, could you stay a little longer and be with me during the birth?” Edith asked.
“Of course,” Amelia replied.
“That’s wonderful!” Edith exclaimed, her face lighting up with joy.
Edith was practically glowing with happiness.
In her final trimester, Edith needed to stay active, so every day she would invite Amelia and Gloria to join her for walks around the villa.
Watching Edith, Gloria found herself thinking about her own daughter.
‘Kayla is all the way in Lunova, married into the Prescott family. Can she really handle everything on her own?‘ Gloria thought.
‘When things get tough, does she have anyone she can really talk to?‘ she worried.
Gloria had tried to call Kayla several times, but Amelia would always stop her.
“Gloria, we told Kayla we weren’t coming to Lunova. Let’s just hang out at my place for a bit, and then we’ll set up a surprise for her,” Amelia said.
“Honestly, why not just meet her face to face? What’s with all this surprise stuff?” Gloria grumbled, not entirely pleased.
“Gloria, have you ever actually surprised Kayla when she came home?” Amelia pressed.
Gloria paused and realized, no, she really hadn’t.
She’d always focused on making Kayla feel loved and welcome–giving her money, a house, jewelry, designer bags… but never once had she given her a real surprise.
“Girls love a little romance!” Amelia said with a playful wink. “If I ever have a daughter, I’ll make sure to surprise her for every holiday and birthday. No repeats, ever.”
Gloria began to reflect on her own actions.
When Kayla was little, she loved getting gifts. Even a little grasshopper made from blades of grass would make her so happy.

When she received the lavender pillow, she was overjoyed for days, showing it off to everyone she met.
But then Kayla disappeared. Gloria’s life became consumed with searching and tears. She had forgotten all about surprises.
“Amy, let’s really get to work on this!” Gloria jumped right in, her excitement obvious.
Amelia nodded. “Absolutely!”
The two of them started brainstorming ways to give Kayla a truly unforgettable surprise.
Meanwhile, Landon started looking into things behind the scenes.

After coming home, Raymondwent to the hospital every day to be with Maggie.
He’d always been the classic aloof CEO type–hardly ever spoke and had no clue how to take care of people.
But just having him there made Maggie feel safe.
Worried Raymondwould bring up the Lambert family and start scolding her, Maggie decided to confess everything first.
“Don’t worry, Tuff will handle it,” Raymondsaid, surprisingly not blaming her.
Maggie looked at him, surprised. “Raymond, you’re really not going to scold me?”
“Scold you? It’s not like this is the first time you’ve been a little lost,” Raymondsaid, teasing her.
Maggie just stared at him, at a loss for words.
Diane laughed and said, “See, Maggie? Raymond’s always been soft on you!”
Maggie couldn’t help but smile shyly.
But that line from Lily about “the pretty secretary” kept pricking at Maggie’s heart like a thorn.
She wanted to bring it up, but just couldn’t find the courage,
She was afraid that asking would somehow make it real.
Joyce was nowhere to be seen after that.
Ever since the chaos on New Year’s Eve, everything had finally calmed down.
Maggie was genuinely pleased.
For the first time in her life, she realized just how wonderful things could be without Joyce around.
Tuff and Kayla were both busy, heading out early and coming back late, each caught up in their own affairs.

Everyone thought Kayla was simply busy with company matters, but no one realized she was secretly digging into the mastermind behind the car accident.
In the early hours before dawn, Kayla appeared in one of the old alleys of Lunova’s second ring district.
“Who are you?” she asked.
About ten feet away, a man dressed head–to–toe in black, with a black mask, almost melted into the shadows of the night.
Only his blue eyes were visible, glinting in the darkness.
His gaze was so dark and oppressive, it sent a chill down Kayla’s spine.
“You really don’t remember…” the blue–eyed man sighed.
Kayla asked, “Do we know each other?”
“Miss, looks like all those years the Limitless Sect spent raising you were for nothing,” he said.
Kayla’s heart thudded in her chest.
The Limitless Sect–that was where she’d spent nearly a decade of her life.
After all these years, hearing that name again made Kayla’s heart race. She couldn’t hide her excitement as her voice trembled, “You… are you from the Limitless Sect?”
“No,” the man replied.
Kayla pressed her lips together tightly.
‘I can’t even tell if I’m disappointed or relieved,‘ she thought.
The Limitless Sect had been destroyed by the Flying Tiger Sect years ago, Both Tuff and Landon had taken part in the operation that wiped them out.
She was the only survivor.
That meant all the old grudges and debts had finally been settled.
But this man in front of her made her nervous.
Kayla studied him carefully, her voice sharp as she demanded, “Then how do you know about the Limitless
Sect?”
“Someone sent me,” he replied.
“Who?” Kayla demanded.
