Attending the Brown family’s heiress’s coming–of–age ceremony definitely called for dressing to impress, as a sign of respect.
But seeing a whole family go this over the top was pretty unusual.
Especially the two women…
They were glittering with gold and silver, as if they couldn’t wait to flaunt every chunk of jewelry they owned.
It was like they wanted the whole world to know just how loaded they were.
They looked like total nouveau riche.
Especially that young girl–even though she was just a kid, she had squeezed herself into a white dress that was meant to scream innocence.
But the neckline was plunged ridiculously low, and the whole thing was skin–tight…
The hem sparkled with so many rhinestones. One would think they raided a disco ball. It was blinding.
That sweet, innocent face was totally wasted–she ended up looking almost sleazy.
Instead, she just looked… ridiculous and cheap.
Plenty of people couldn’t help but shoot each other looks, wondering, ‘Seriously, how did the Brown family end up inviting someone so out of place?‘
The Fairbank family remained utterly oblivious; instead of feeling out of place, they basked in all the curious looks, looking so pleased with themselves you’d think they were the stars of the show.
“See? You’re so stunning–half the room can’t stop sneaking glances at you,” Hazel said, positively bubbling with excitement. “Jessica, just be confident! Put on your best show, and I swear, those elite heirs will be completely wrapped around your finger…”
Jessica puffed out her chest, a self–assured, proud grin blooming on her face as she turned up the charm, striking even flirtier poses.
Her vanity was thoroughly satisfied.
Jessica had always believed she was a knockout, but tonight–with all this glam–she thought she looked absolutely drop–dead gorgeous. ‘No way anyone in this room can match me,‘ she gloated to herself.
Right on cue, she could feel all those gazes zeroing in–‘Just look at them, all staring at me!‘ she preened
inside.
‘I’m about to have every rich heir in Orlathis City tripping over themselves for me tonight,‘ she thought, her vanity swelling. ‘Just watch–these high rollers will be lining up to worship me!‘

‘When that happens, I’d love to see how Sienna plans to keep showing off with her trust–fund flunkies in front of me!‘ Jessica smirked to herself.
Just as the Fairbank family was caught up in their grand fantasies about taking center stage at this exclusive party and boosting their social standing, something unexpected was about to grab everyone’s attention.
Suddenly, a stretch limo sped up and rolled to a smooth stop right at the entrance of the estate.
When Melvin realized what he was looking at, he just froze, gaping at the car. “Th–that car…”
“I saw that ride on the news just last month!” Lawrence sucked in a breath, his voice shaking with shock. “That’s a Caros! Word is, there’s literally only one in all of Orlathis City–no, in all of Aurathen, maybe even the whole world! And the starting price is a jaw–dropping 1.5 billion!”
The moment they heard “1.5 billion,” everyone was floored.
Jessica just stood there, completely dazed.
‘A car that costs 1.5 billion? Is that even possible?‘ she wondered, unable to believe it.
The Fairbank guys all had their eyes glued to that insane, limited–edition luxury car–shock, envy, and straight–up greed practically written all over their faces.
“Holy crap, 1.5 billion…” Hazel was staring so hard at that stretch limo that she nearly crushed Jessica’s arm, her voice practically shaking with excitement. “Jessica, did you see that? Only a car like that is worthy of you!”
The way Hazel looked at Jessica was like she’d found the family’s golden ticket. “You’re our miracle girl! Just keep hustling, and someday, you’ll get your mom riding in a car like that! If you can get us into the Brown family’s banquet tonight, I know you’ll score us a ride in one of those top–tier wheels next!”
Jessica could barely contain her excitement–1.5 billion! Her cheeks were burning with joy as she stared at the car. “Mom, just watch–I promise I’ll make it happen!”
Not a single guy at this party was safe from her tonight; Jessica was going after every one of them.
Just imagining herself riding shotgun in that 1.5–billion luxury car, basking in everyone’s jealous stares, made her heart thunder with exhilaration.
The driver opened the door.
When the Fairbank family saw who got out, they all gasped, eyes wide with shock!
It was… the legendary Cooper couple–the richest people in all of Orlathis City!
Next, the two of them flanked the entrance, standing tall with an aura that could intimidate a whole room.
A sleek, high–tech lift slid out from inside the limo, catching everyone’s attention.
Rolf sat regally in his wheelchair as the lift gently descended, lowering him to the ground with all the ceremony of royalty arriving.

The Cooper family’s eldest grandson, Theo–the official heir–was right behind, hands steady on the wheelchair, making sure everything went perfectly.
The moment they stepped out, every single eye in the place was glued to them.
Now that was some serious old–money energy–pure top–tier power and authority that only a real legacy family could bring. You could practically feel the generations of respect and clout rolling off them.
“The Cooper family… the wealthiest household in Orlathis City!” Melvin was shaking all over, barely able to contain himself. “I can’t believe we’re actually rubbing shoulders with those legends at the same party!”
Just last time, they’d basically staked out the Moon Restaurant for hours, waiting to catch the Coopers–even ended up on their knees, begging for a chance to keep that partnership going.
Back then, they were so desperate to win that contract back, nothing else even crossed their minds.
They were so caught up, they didn’t even get a chance to kiss up to the Coopers.
‘No freaking way… Melvin thought, still in disbelief.
‘Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d get another chance to see the Coopers up close, let alone end up partying in the same room as them!‘ he marveled to himself, practically pinching his arm.
‘Not in a million years would we have even dared to hope for something like this!‘ he couldn’t help but sigh.
“Talk about luck! We really hit the jackpot!” Melvin’s voice trembled with excitement. “Jessica, you are honestly our lucky star! Who would’ve thought we’d actually bump into the Cooper family here? Quick, let’s go say hi. Last time at the Moon Restaurant, we didn’t really get a chance to make a proper impression!”
And judging by their reactions, the Coopers definitely still have a strong impression of the Fairbank family.
Clearly, there must’ve been some misunderstanding last time.
This was just the opening we needed to finally smooth things over.
While he was still talking, Melvin suddenly caught a few glances from the Coopers drifting right toward them.
