Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 11

As Tyler drove back toward the villa, his phone wouldn't stop buzzing.

Seeing "Grandma" flashing on the screen made his headache worse.

Finally, on the last ring, he slammed on the brakes and answered.

"Grandma," he said gently.

"So you do remember you have a grandmother!" Her voice was strong and full of energy. "Now, what's going on with that Vivienne girl?"

Tyler pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to keep his patience. "Vivienne is sick, Grandma. She means no harm."

"Are you out of your mind, Tyler?" she snapped. "No harm? She knows full well you're married, but she still hangs all over you, can't keep her distance, and plays the victim whenever it suits her. I've never seen anyone so shameless! End things with her, now. And go apologize to Emily!"

A scowl formed between Tyler's brows, Emilia's face flickering through his mind.

A wave of irritation welled up inside him.

"Did Emilia complain to you?" His voice was noticeably colder now.

"Do you think we needed Emily to tell us?" Grandma's anger was palpable. "It's all over the internet, Tyler! Remember this—your wife is Emilia. How could you just stand there with another woman while Emily fell to the ground? What do you think that looks like, with all those paparazzi watching?"

Tyler suddenly recalled what had happened earlier: the look of hurt in Emilia's eyes, just for a moment. Maybe, he thought, that wasn't great.

But he pushed the thought away.

"That's not right, Grandma. She saw those rumors online and went to the hospital on purpose to confront Vivienne."

"Let me handle this," said Parker, taking the phone.

"Tyler." His grandfather's deep voice came through the line. "You were the one who brought Emilia to me and said you wanted to marry her. Now that you have, you need to take responsibility."

"Grandpa…"

"Come home for dinner tonight," the old man interrupted, leaving no room for discussion. "Bring Emily with you."

Without another word, he hung up.

Tyler was left alone in the car.

His left hand tapped absently on the steering wheel, his brows furrowed in frustration.

He scrolled through his contacts until he found Emilia's name.

"Come with me to dinner at my grandfather's tonight," he said at last.

"I'm busy," Emilia replied crisply, without a hint of hesitation.

"It's Grandpa's request," Tyler pressed, frowning.

Emilia hung up.

All that remained was the cold, repetitive drone of the disconnected line.

Tyler stared at his phone, stunned, his frown deepening.

He tried calling her again, but she didn't pick up.

Outside, cars streamed past on the busy road. Tyler sat in silence, watching his phone for a long while.

At last, he slipped it back into his pocket, started the engine, and drove off toward their villa—their so-called marital home.

The sky was growing darker.
