The trending topic exploded overnight.
This time, at least, the media showed a shred of responsibility by blurring out the faces and locations of the minors involved. All that circulated was a distant shot: Emilia, hand in hand with a little girl in a backpack, walking away from the camera.
Maybe it was fear of Tyler's influence that kept the press cautious.
But that didn't stop the internet from erupting—
"When did Emilia have a child?"
"Yeah, hasn't she only been married to Tyler for a year? Where did this kid come from? I never heard anything about her being pregnant."
"According to the reporters, the kid's old enough for school—she's not a toddler. But Emilia's only twenty-five!"
"Is this one of Emilia's tricks? Tyler's been getting closer to Vivienne lately, so maybe Emilia pulled this stunt on purpose!"
"I bet she did. Honestly, she probably paid for this trending topic herself!"
"This is outrageous. She can't wait even six months? Vivienne only has six months left!"
…
While the whole world debated, inside Vivian Floral Atelier, Vivienne hurled her mug against the floor in a fit of rage.
The cleaner silently swept up the shards of porcelain and slipped back out.
Vivienne pulled out her phone and dialed a number, not bothering to check who she was calling.
"What the hell is going on? Why does she suddenly have a kid?"
A voice on the other end replied, "We don't know yet. I'll look into it. It's strange—if she'd had a child a few years ago, Tyler would know. Want to test him?"
"You think—" Vivienne's eyes narrowed dangerously, "—this is fake?"
"It could be. Either way, ask Tyler about it. Whether it's a lie or not, we'll handle whatever comes next."
The caller paused, then added, "Vivienne, I've got your back. Don't worry."
Executive Office.
Jensen stood in front of Tyler's desk, handing over a tablet.
"Mr. Erickson, here's the latest update. I spoke with the reporters, just like you asked."
Tyler scrolled through the tablet, reviewing not just the gossip circulating online, but also the additional details Jensen had managed to obtain.
"As you can see, sir, what's known about the child so far is that she's a girl, likely not even five years old. The photos were taken outside a preschool, with your wife."
Jensen continued, "I've already made sure, as you instructed, to buy out the rights to all the information. Nothing more detailed will leak online."
In this day and age, paparazzi lurked everywhere, always looking to sell a story.
This was clearly one of those moments.
On the screen, Emilia—dressed in a winter coat—was crouched down, straightening the little girl's clothes. The child looked up at her and softly called out, "Mommy."
