Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 132

Erickson Manor sat on the highly coveted Silver Birch Drive in Alden City, occupying its own private stretch of land.

It was the only estate in the area with such an expanse, marked on the map by a large, perfectly round lake—Moon Lake—that formed the heart of the property.

The entire grounds, Lunar Manor, wrapped around this lake, its elegant buildings painted a soft, pale gold. At night, when the lights flickered on, the manor glowed like a full moon seen from above—serene, complete, breathtakingly beautiful.

The main house stood quietly by the water's edge, the picture of tranquility.

Emilia gazed up at the manor, her expression calm and unreadable.

Normally, she would have driven straight through the gates, but tonight she stopped just outside, choosing to arrive as a guest.

The security guard on duty spotted her right away and hurried over.

"Good evening, ma'am. Mr. and Mrs. Erickson have been waiting for you to come home," he announced, pressing a button to swing open the heavy iron gates.

Emilia gave a small nod. "I'll take the shuttle in today."

The guard blinked in surprise but quickly recovered. "Of course, ma'am," he said, making the arrangements without another question.

Within minutes, a sleek shuttle rolled up, driven by Dailey, the estate's head manager. He stepped out and opened the door for her, greeting her with a warm, "Welcome home, ma'am."

Emilia nodded again, settling into the passenger seat.

As the shuttle glided along the winding path skirting Moon Lake, Emilia finally crossed into Lunar Manor.

"Ma'am, the lady of the house has been talking about you nonstop lately," Dailey began, chatting as he drove. "She keeps saying the place feels empty without you here, that she's not used to it at all."

"And the old man's been in a mood too," he continued, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "Keeps grumbling that he's going to wring young master's neck."

Dailey chuckled. "He's also been saying that Vivienne is nothing but a troublemaker and there's no way she could ever take your place. Says he's been waiting for you to come back so he can stand up for you."

He rambled on, clearly eager to fill the silence.

Emilia listened, half-interested, suspecting the old couple had put him up to it.

The night air was brisk. Emilia pulled her coat tighter around her shoulders.

But…

She looked ahead to where the Bentley was parked, a man standing beside it.

Tyler.

Tonight would be anything but calm.

The shuttle stopped at the appointed spot. Emilia stepped out, bag in hand.

No sooner had she found her balance than she felt someone's presence beside her.

She didn't need to look to know it was Tyler.

"Young master," Dailey greeted.

Tyler waved him off, signaling for Dailey to leave them alone.
