After all, she still had dirt on Serena.
She was sure that, compared to "Emy," Christian valued Serena far more.
Meanwhile, back in the private dining room, word had already spread.
Joyce was absolutely livid.
"What the hell is this? Are we supposed to be invisible? There were three of us at dinner, but they only snapped photos of those two?"
Emilia squeezed Joyce's hand, trying to calm her down. "That's just how the paparazzi are. Don't let it get to you," she said, then turned to Bella. "Bella, how about letting Miss Joyce take you home tonight?"
The adoption process wasn't finalized yet, so Bella still had to go back for now.
Bella nodded sensibly, then looked to Joyce, who understood Emilia's meaning. After a brief exchange, she scooped Bella into her arms.
Luckily, dinner was wrapping up anyway. Emilia and Christian left first to draw attention, giving Joyce and Bella the chance to slip out unnoticed.
As Emilia and Christian headed to the car together, Emilia made a point of not wearing a mask. She wanted to make sure the cameras got a clear shot. Any rumors about her and Christian could be cleared up later—after all, it was a group dinner, and that was easy enough to prove. There was nothing secretive about two people and a child leaving together.
Besides, she'd already signed with Donovan Entertainment, so being seen with Christian wasn't suspicious. Visiting the hospital to check on someone was just a friendly gesture.
What mattered most was keeping Bella out of the paparazzi's line of fire.
Just as Emilia and Christian's car pulled away, Tyler's Aston Martin sped past in the opposite direction.
By the time Tyler reached the private room, it was already empty.
Joyce, not wanting to risk any accidents, had already whisked Bella away to another room.
The only people left were the staff clearing up.
"Where are they?" Tyler's voice was ice-cold.
The server shot him a look. "They paid and left. Isn't that obvious?"
Tyler clenched his jaw, fists tightening until his knuckles whitened.
