Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 177

The light turned green.

Tyler closed the page and kept driving.

That statement was still as insubstantial as ever—not enough to convince the press, and certainly not enough to convince him.

His anger hadn't faded.

Something was off with her lately.

He needed to ask her about it, face to face.

Once again, he found himself replaying that night at Lunar Manor—her tear-streaked face as she refused him.

Had she found someone new? Was that why she turned him down?

She used to care so much.

So many times, even when she was exhausted, she'd still go along with whatever he wanted as long as he coaxed her gently.

She'd never denied him before.

Except for last time.

Was it because of Christian? Felix? Or someone else entirely?

Tyler's grip tightened on the steering wheel.

The Aston Martin sped down the road, making its way to Hillside Manor.

He parked, got out, and let himself into the house.

But the moment he stepped inside, he noticed it again—the place was shrouded in darkness.

Not even the little lamp in the entryway was on.

Tyler frowned. He remembered that the last time he'd come by, it had been the same—every single light left off.

He flicked the switches, flooding the house with light, but the silence pressed in all around him.

Something was wrong.

The last time he'd dropped by to grab some vitamins for his grandfather, he'd barely noticed. But now, the emptiness was impossible to ignore.

His lips pressed into a hard line as he walked to the bedroom.

No sign of Emilia in the master suite.

Not even a hint that anyone had stayed there, at least not recently.
