But she didn’t want to acknowledge him.
A cool night breeze drifted through the darkness.
Just like that, the night slipped quietly away.
At some point, rain had fallen outside—the pavement was slick and shining, puddles reflecting the pale morning light.
The next day, when Emilia Dennis looked out her window again, the rain had stopped. The sleek black Maybach was gone.
All that remained was a dry patch on the wet ground, a silent reminder that a car had been parked there all night.
So be it.
Live well.
Do your best.
That was all Emilia allowed herself to think.
……
Time raced by.
Soon, it was time for the fourth live episode of *Voice of the Divine*.
It also happened to be the 27th day of Emilia’s separation from Tyler Erickson—the last stretch of their cooling-off period before the divorce could be finalized.
Inside the studio, Tyler was there, as always.
Same seat, same quiet intensity as the previous three shows.
Mr. Theodore Glenn, George, and Ella Glenn were all present as well.
Vivienne Hargrave greeted them politely, but after what had happened last time, the three members of the Glenn family kept their distance. When Vivienne approached, they simply skirted around her and took their seats.
George and Ella were bickering about something, voices rising and falling, leaving no room for anyone to interject.
So Vivienne had no choice but to strike up conversation with Tyler instead.
Emilia was already prepared backstage, standing quietly in the dressing room.
She glanced down at her phone, reading the message Vivienne had just sent from Serena’s account:
*This is your last chance.*
