When Emilia woke up and glanced out her window at the endless blue sky, she nodded to herself. Today was a good day.

It was the day of the finals.

From the moment morning broke, everything was a blur of activity. Her stage costume for this performance was especially elaborate, so Emilia headed over to the designer’s studio first thing.

Once everything was finally sorted, she slid into the backseat of the shuttle van and set off for the Voice of the Divine finals venue.

But today, things were different.

She hadn’t even stepped out of the car before she noticed a huge crowd gathered outside the venue, buzzing with agitation. They were shouting about something, loud enough to hear but too far to make out the words.

“Serena, wait here. I’ll go check it out,” her assistant Cindy said, instructing the driver to park at a distance before slipping out to investigate.

A few minutes later, Cindy rushed back, her face tight with worry.

“Can you drive us straight inside?” she asked the driver.

Emilia caught the tension in her voice and looked at her expectantly.

Cindy hesitated, then finally spoke. “They’re protestors. All holding up signs…”

She didn’t need to say more. Emilia understood immediately.

“It won’t work,” Emilia said, shaking her head. “They must know what our car looks like by now. If we try to push through, we’ll just get blocked, and if anything happens…”

Her meaning was clear—if they got caught up in a scuffle, the competition would be the last thing on their minds.

Just then, another car rolled past, and Vivienne’s face popped out of the window, smirking in delight. “What’s the matter? Too scared to come in?” she taunted.

Cindy, already on edge, shot her an icy glare and slammed the car door shut with a bang.

Emilia didn’t hesitate. “Drive. Now,” she ordered the driver.
