Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 295

Meanwhile, backstage, Tyler stood alone in the shadows, his gaze fixed on the door to Emilia’s dressing room.

He was waiting for her to come out.

He needed to talk to her—properly, this time.

His mind kept circling back to everything that had happened with Serena over the past few weeks. George’s words echoed relentlessly in his head.

“Anyone with eyes could see what kind of shape Serena was in during the last few episodes.”

He knew it was true.

Hell, he’d even blamed Christian for it.

He’d been angry—furious, even—that Christian had let her keep working when she was so badly hurt.

But thinking about it now…

That injury—her pain—it was all because of him.

His thoughts drifted back to a couple days ago, when he was still at Alden General Hospital. He’d just recovered, and his assistant was sorting out his discharge papers.

Out of nowhere, Felix’s words came back to him, nagging at the back of his mind. He’d wanted to know what had really happened to Emilia when she was hospitalized.

So he’d gone to find out.

He’d walked up to the front desk, asked for a nurse, and said he wanted to check Emilia’s medical records.

“Of course. Emilia, right? And you are…?” The nurse typed away, glancing at him over her glasses.

He almost blurted out that he was her husband, but then he remembered—they were divorced. That title no longer belonged to him.

So all he managed was, “I’m a friend.”

The nurse looked at him, a little skeptical. “A friend? She was here for days, and you never came to see her? And you’re not just asking her yourself? Unless you’re family, I can’t give you any information.”

Tyler stood there, speechless.

Now, thinking about it again, Tyler closed his eyes. His feelings were a tangled mess. Everything seemed to be coming apart at the seams.
