Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 300

Everything online was reaching a fever pitch.

That was when The Glenn Group released a video.

It showed the scene from the gem auction, back when the tanzanite was still up for bidding.

It was the exact moment when Emilia acquired the stone from The Glenn Group.

In the footage, everyone except Emilia had their faces blurred, their identities hidden.

Emilia sat alone in a corner, quietly but resolutely raising her paddle again and again.

From across the room, a man sneered at her. “If it were anyone else, I’d let it go—it’s just a stone. But you’re Tyler Erickson’s wife. There’s no way I’m letting you have it.”

Emilia’s gaze was calm as she looked straight at him. “What would it take for you to let me have it?”

He burst out laughing, his eyes full of malice. “Right here, in front of everyone, bark like a dog and say ‘Tyler is just a mutt.’ Then, agree to my business terms. Only then will I back down.”

For a moment, it looked like Emilia might comply. She stood up, her expression unreadable, and everyone held their breath.

But instead, she grabbed the nearest bidder’s paddle and brought it down hard across the man’s face.

“You—!”

He lunged toward her in anger, but Emilia didn’t flinch.

“I’m going to sue you! That was assault!” he shouted, his face red with rage.

Emilia’s lips curled in a faint smile. “Go ahead. By the time you reach the door, the mark will have faded. Do you really think anyone will find a scratch?”

“Emilia!”

“That’s right. I meant to humiliate you.” Her voice was soft but unwavering.

“I won’t let you insult him. Not under any circumstances.”

She said it with a gentle smile, but her eyes were cold and steely.

“Do you understand?”

The man’s voice came out in a roar. “Aren’t you afraid you’ll lose your chance at the stone?”
