The name “Emy” was protected by a strict confidentiality agreement with Donovan Entertainment.
Even her public contact information was handled by Christian’s people, making it impossible to trace Emy back to Emilia.
Because of this, Emilia had once asked Christian about Vivienne’s number.
Vivienne used several different numbers for her business contacts, but the one she’d used to reach out to Serena—the one calling now—wasn’t registered under her real name. She was always careful.
After a moment’s hesitation, Emilia tapped the answer button.
“Emy?” Vivienne’s voice came through first. “It’s Vivienne.”
Emilia coughed twice, feigning that her cold still hadn’t passed. “What is it?” she rasped, glancing over at Bella before stepping out onto the balcony for privacy.
“Have you seen the trending topics online?” Vivienne’s voice brimmed with smug satisfaction.
She’d spent a long time coming up with this plan.
Emilia closed the balcony door behind her, her voice still rough. “I saw.”
“So, are you willing to hand it over now?” Vivienne pressed, her tone confident. “If you cooperate, I can make sure you get a generous payout—and even help build your personal brand.”
She was careful with her words, never saying “credit,” only calling it “it,” leaving nothing concrete anyone could use against her.
Emilia understood: Vivienne was covering herself in case the call was being recorded.
The thought made Emilia smile faintly. She replied in a gravelly voice, “If you mean credit, just say credit. What’s with all this ‘it’ nonsense?”
“I never said anything about credit,” Vivienne denied instantly. “If you want to twist my words, there’s nothing I can do.”
“Let’s get back to the point.”
