Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 390

This was the first time the two of them had been alone together since their last explosive argument.

But this time, Tyler seemed far calmer than before.

They locked eyes across the room, tension stretching between them. Finally, Theodore gave a small, wry smile. “Want to grab a drink?”

In the private lounge at Prism Ivy House, Theodore nursed a glass of whiskey, watching Tyler, who sat off to the side, head bowed, already finishing his first drink.

Neither spoke.

To be precise, Theodore was waiting for Tyler to break the silence.

Tyler poured himself another, and as he drained the glass, he finally asked, “Why are you doing this?”

“What exactly do you mean?” Theodore replied.

“Emilia.” Tyler let the name hang in the air, looking Theodore straight in the eye.

“I thought I made myself clear last time,” Theodore said calmly. “I like her. I’m pursuing her.”

Tyler’s brow furrowed as he studied Theodore closely—not with the rage of their last confrontation, but with a searching intensity, as if trying to see straight through him.

“Theodore,” he said at last, “as far as I know you, you’re not the type to fall for someone like her.”

Theodore just gave a soft, almost mocking laugh. “There’s a lot about me you don’t know.”

“So after all those years you spent exiled at sea, you come back and decide this is what you want?” Tyler pressed, his tone sharp.

Theodore’s gaze dropped for a moment.

It was true. Those years away had been exile—sent off by his own family. Few people knew the truth.
