Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 408

“Emilia…” In Theodore’s arms, Emilia heard Tyler call her name.

She turned her head and saw him standing there, lips pressed tightly together, framed by the endless dark behind him. His eyes brimmed with sorrow—no anger, no other emotion, just a deep, quiet sadness.

A single tear slipped down his cheek.

He blinked, trying to keep himself together, but it was no use. His brow furrowed as he drew a shaky breath, staring down at the ground.

Only when he felt her gaze did he finally look up again.

“Does it really have to be this way?” he asked. His voice trembled so slightly that no one but her would notice.

Emilia didn’t answer directly. She only shifted her hand, the one he still held in a desperate grip.

“Let go of me,” she said.

But he wouldn’t release her.

As she tried to pull away, one of his tears landed on the back of her hand.

“You’re hurting me.” Emilia didn’t look at him again. Instead, she turned back toward Theodore.

She’d already made her choice, and no tear from Tyler would make her turn back. The truth was, her decision had been made days ago.

Theodore stepped forward and pried Tyler’s fingers off her hand one by one, his grip unyielding.

All the while, Tyler kept his eyes fixed on her.

But Emilia just turned her back to him, refusing to look again.

Finally, when Theodore forced away the last of Tyler’s fingers, Emilia pulled free.

Tyler tried to move toward her, but Theodore immediately shielded her, giving a subtle gesture to the men nearby.

They were just outside Glenn Manor, surrounded by Theodore’s people. At his command, two men stepped forward and restrained Tyler, making sure he couldn’t do anything reckless.

“Let’s go,” Emilia said softly to Theodore, never looking back.

“Alright.” Theodore nodded, gently rubbing her wrist—still red from Tyler’s grasp—before leading her toward the nearby Bentley.
