It was only then that everyone realized—the picture frame was double-layered.
As the first layer burned away, leaving only Tyler’s face, a new image appeared beneath: a photograph with a striking blue hue.
Emilia stared at the hidden photo.
She had long since decided she didn’t want Tyler anymore. Even if she’d agreed to connect with Vivienne’s livestream, she would never have put her wedding photo with Tyler on display here.
So, from the very beginning, when she started planning all this, she’d told the team from The Glenn Group to prepare a two-layer frame.
Just a moment ago, she’d run her fingers over the photo, only to check the placement of the accelerant.
After all, it was summer, and they were outdoors. Too much accelerant and the frame would have caught fire too soon, so she’d only dabbed a little on specific spots.
Vivienne’s sudden decision to do a livestream tour of the bridal suite at Hillside Manor had caught everyone off guard, so Emilia had thrown most of this together at the last minute—the Glenn Group staff handled the details.
For instance, it was Theodore himself who’d chosen the photo for the second layer.
Emilia had no idea what would be there.
As the flames grew, the second photo gradually emerged.
It was a picture taken by the sea.
Emilia was barefoot in a blue dress, standing in the surf, flicking sparkling water into the air, her face lit with unrestrained joy.
Beside her stood Theodore, grinning as he held her high-heeled shoes, his gaze brimming with affection.
Their eyes met—one of them unaware that her feelings had already taken root, the other hiding his love deep within.
Though the rain had stopped by then, the photo seemed to have been snapped under an awning or some other shelter. In the foreground, traces of blue rain lingered.
It looked as if they were standing together in the rain.
This was from their very first date.
Emilia was stunned for a moment, gazing at the photograph.
She reached out, brushing her fingers over her own face in the picture, then letting her eyes linger on Theodore’s dark, love-filled eyes.
She’d never seen this photo before.
