Sienna’s POV

Seeing Noah, I could sense the simplicity of happiness.

No extravagant gatherings, no need for the world to acknowledge him Noah’s laughter is pure joy and I am right beside him. That was more than enough.

Time passed quickly. With the evening sun setting, a redhot sky shone through the window. Eventually, Noah settled down beside me, appearing tired. After reaching for a soft blanket, I put him inside.

Rest for a while, sweetheart. We’ll have dinner together when Daddy comes back home.

After looking at me with his round eyes, he nodded gently and then slowly closed his eyes. Don’t leave me alone, Mommy,a few seconds later, I was relieved.

I held my breath. My heart was filled with the warmth of those uncomplicated words. I nodded as he drifted off to sleep, and then kissed his forehead.

My beloved, I will never go anywhere again.

Noah’s resting place was the reason for my prolonged sitting on the sofa. The babysitter escaped to the kitchen to make drinks, leaving me in a peaceful state.

My heart was pounding, but I found solace in the living room and tried to remain composed. I felt both at home and away in this house. There was no one around, except for the clock and the aroma of my freshly made coffee,

which I shared with Liam.

It didn’t make sense for me to have made two cups. Maybe a part of me was already aware that I wanted to share this simple moment with him.

The gate’s creak was accompanied by the sound of an engine running outside. My chest tightened instantly. It was Liam. I rushed to stroke my hair and ensure the table was kept clean. It felt silly, like a wife waiting for her husband to return from work, yet we were still in the middle of something.

Heavy footsteps were heard as the front door slowly opened. The sound of his breathing was so intense that I thought he had been carrying heavy weight. It felt like this. Why? I froze in my tracks after seeing his face.

Liam was at the doorway, his work shirt wrinkled and his tie halfnaked with tiredness on his face. When he saw me sitting on the couch, his sharp eyes expanded to reveal more of my surroundings.

He had a low, almost rocking voice that asked Sienna.

As I smooch, my fingers were gripping my lap. You’re back.

He didn’t move right away. While staring, he displayed a combination of shock and relief. Then slowly, he stepped closer.

He raised his voice once more, Are you still here?with a hopeful tone.

After taking a deep breath, I nodded and said Yes. I thought it was time. Noah needs me here and I need him. I

need both of you.

There was no sound between us, silenced by the clock ticking and our irregular breaths. His eyes had a faint tint, and I could perceive moisture in his eyes, which was hiding despite his small, delicate smile. The moment passed.

I didn’t hear back from you before,he inquired.

I peered broadly before responding stoically, I was anxious you’d expect too much. Despite everything, I still have to accept it. Hence, I decided to come first and inform you after you had seen it.

Despite the discomfort, his relieved expression was due to his long breath and silent laugh. He later explained that he had not dreamed or dreamt.

My face flickered with a slight grimace. If this is sexy, then we are dreaming the same thing.

Liam eventually sat down beside me, but only as close as I could feel his warmth. We remained silent for a few seconds. I maintained a fixed gaze at my hands while he looked at me. He raised his eyebrow and reached for the cup of coffee I had prepared earlier.

He asked if he had the opportunity.

My lips were warming. Yes, I was right there.

He had a sip and nodded in agreement. He said, I still love what you make.

I couldn’t help but smile ten times, trying to keep the swirl of emotions inside me.

Without hesitation, Liam declared, Noah has a strong passion for playing in the park. This was done without any reservations.

There are many discussions that he has about it. At last, he consistently asks when reunited with Mommy.

The warmth sprang into my chest, combined with a familiar discomfort. My lips were swollen. Now he’s sleeping well, thanks to his new caregiver.

I saw Liam staring at me with a fixed stare. Are you still at home? Not just passing through?
