From Neglected Wife to CEO’s Obsession novel Chapter 124

There was nothing left to hide, so I told Blake everything—every detail of what had happened recently, no sugarcoating, no secrets.

If we were going to work together, honesty was the only way forward.

Elliot, always the gentleman, glanced my way and asked if maybe he should step out since things might get personal. It was a kind gesture, but honestly, unnecessary. He’d seen me at my lowest—he’d literally saved my life—and, like Ryan, he never told a soul. For reasons I couldn’t quite explain, I just trusted Elliot completely.

“Mr. Garcia, these are all the files I’ve put together. Please take a look.”

Blake took the documents and scrolled through them, his face growing more and more serious. When he finished, he looked up at me, genuinely puzzled. “You have enough here to prove Remy lied about the marriage, cheated, and even hurt you. I have two questions. First—how are you so calm? Most people would lose it with half this much proof. Second—what are you hoping to get out of the settlement? What’s your ideal outcome?”

I looked down and let out a small, self-mocking laugh. “What keeps me calm? Disappointment, heartbreak, and finally, determination. Remy is the reason our marriage fell apart. I want seventy percent of everything we own together, plus ten percent of Thompson Corporation’s shares. And any money Remy spent on his mistress while we were married? That was our joint property. I want it all back, split according to the same terms. To be honest, if I hadn’t crossed paths with you, Mr. Garcia, I’d have gone to court and faced Remy on my own. Even if things didn’t go my way, this evidence is enough to ruin him and end our marriage for good.”

My voice was cold and sharp. After what he’d done to me—almost costing me my life—he deserved every bit of what was coming to him.

Elliot, who had been quiet this whole time, raised his brows in surprise. There was a glint of mischief in his eyes, and a faint, knowing smile played on his lips. “I thought you were a little lamb, but it turns out you’re a kitten hiding her claws.”

Blake burst out laughing, clapping Elliot on the shoulder for his sharp observation. Elliot just sat there, calm and refined, like he belonged in a museum.

Seeing Elliot in such a good mood, I decided to take my shot. “I was hoping to meet Mr. White, if possible.”

But just as Elliot made the call, we were told Mr. White had already left for a tech conference in another city. He’d left at noon.

There went my chance. I doubted I’d ever get another shot at studying under someone like him.
