From Neglected Wife to CEO’s Obsession novel Chapter 184

“Good evening, ma’am. Thank you for waiting. We have two single rooms left, and they’re right next to each other. You can pick whichever you like.”

Remy just stood there, stunned. That painful look in his eyes faded, replaced by the tiniest smile—like hope flickering back to life.

I kept my eyes on the counter, quickly chose a room, and finished checking in. With the key card clutched in my hand, I walked straight to the elevator.

Behind me, I could still hear Remy talking with the receptionist—his voice clear, way too close for comfort.

Only one room left in this whole hotel. Of course, he’d end up right next door to me. What kind of twisted cosmic joke was this?

The elevator climbed slowly. Even bundled up in my thick coat, I couldn’t stop shivering. The AC must have been cranked way down, or maybe it was just my nerves.

Right now, I really could’ve used another layer.

Elliot’s suite was up on the thirty-eighth floor. My standard room was on the seventeenth.

“Boss, this is my floor. I’ll head to my room now—good night.”

I stepped out, only to realize Elliot followed me and strode ahead, stopping at room 1718.

“Boss, you…” I hurried after him, my voice shaky and low.

With his reputation, there was no way he’d ever try anything, but I still felt a little on edge.

Elliot shot me a look, cool and dismissive. “I only walked you here to make sure you got to your room safe. Once you’re inside, I’ll leave. Don’t get any ideas.”

Honestly, what a waste—a face like that, and then he talks. Points deducted.
