From Neglected Wife to CEO’s Obsession novel Chapter 94

What the hell just happened?

This was straight out of a romance novel—the infamous drunken one-night stand scene. Did some stranger actually take me home last night? Heart racing, I threw off the covers for a frantic check. Oh no. My clothes had definitely been swapped out.

I reached down. Crap. Under the pajama shorts—nothing but skin.

I twisted around, trying to figure out if I felt any different. Yep. My lower belly was sore and my back was aching. This could not be happening.

Did I really just lose my virginity after twenty-seven years without even knowing who it was with?

Who was it? Who got my first time—just like that?

Groaning, I buried my face in my hands. I groped around the bed, desperately searching for my phone.

Kailynn would know. She had to remember what happened last night. And that guy—was he even safe? What if I caught something? I’d spent twenty-seven years guarding my innocence, only to give it up to some random stranger. I must have lost my mind.

Of course, I couldn’t find my phone. My post-drinking sense of direction was so bad that, with one wrong move, I tumbled off the bed with a loud thud.

I landed hard on my butt, pain shooting up my spine. I slapped a hand over my mouth to smother my cry, then wriggled around on the floor like some kind of sad, injured snake.

Maybe I should just forget about who it was. Do what every romance novel heroine does—throw on my clothes and sneak away before anyone notices.

But of course, luck wasn’t on my side.

The door pushed open from the outside, and a tall, broad figure blocked the doorway. I squinted. That silhouette looked weirdly familiar. Wait—a walking wall? Just like last night…

Even with the alcohol still buzzing in my head, I realized it wasn’t a wall. It was a man—a really big man.

I smacked my foggy head, trying to force out some memories. Bits and pieces from last night started to flicker through.

So, I got wasted, glued myself to someone like a clingy octopus, insisted on touching him, and then basically forced myself on a guy I’d never met before?

This was supposed to be my big first time. Why did I throw it away so recklessly, chasing after some random man?

“Who are you? Why did you bring me here? Holding someone hostage is illegal, you know. Just let me go and I’ll pretend none of this ever happened. I’ll handle the morning-after pill myself.”

Might as well go on the offense and pin the blame on him first, before he could accuse me of drunkenly jumping him.

The man let out a cold snort, his words sharp and biting. “I’m the wall you found last night. The one you said felt nice to touch. The wall with legs.”
