Chapter 183
Josie glanced around. ‘This is the entrance to the girls‘ dormitory. Why would he be here?‘
“Is there something you need, Professor?” Josie looked at him suspiciously.

David looked unwell. He gave Josie a complicated look. When he initially accepted her into the team, it was not her academic qualifications that he valued most. It was her identity as a country girl.
A student from an underprivileged background, characterized by diligence and perseverance, and being a young woman with a strong work ethic and efficiency, was exactly the type of individual the
team needed to assist with miscellaneous and administrative tasks.
In his eyes, girls were not as good as boys and could not keep up with them in terms of intellect or physical strength. Therefore, he believed his extensive, meticulous, and profound research work was
unsuitable for her.
His personal experience confirmed this. Josie was unable to keep pace intellectually with his teaching, and she also barely passed the exams, often scoring just above the minimum threshold. Furthermore, her physical fitness continued to decline to the point where she appeared so frail. Even a slight breeze could topple her.
If she were not reasonably diligent and sensible, as well as sufficiently obedient and well–behaved, David would have already advised her to leave the team.
Yet he didn’t expect that the reason she barely passed each exam was her lack of sufficient time for studying. Her physical health and stamina had progressively deteriorated because she worked day and night assisting several senior students with a large number of experiments, which took up her
time for meals and rest.
Admittedly, she had a hard time, and her situation was enough to elicit sympathy. ‘But shouldn’t all of this be blamed on her? Does she not have a mouth? Can’t she speak if she feels overwhelmed by her
workload?‘
David’s gaze sank even lower.
“You betrayed the team, making everyone believe we’ve harmed you, and turning me and your teammates into targets of public/criticism. Isn’t all of this enough?
“Do you have to push things to the point where both sides are destroyed? Do you only feel satisfied when you watch your teammates‘ downfall?”
Josie found it hilarious. She brushed the snowflakes from her body, her gaze even colder than the ice.

Chapter 183
“First, my departure was not an act of betrayal. You overstated the matter. Second, after I left, I never claimed that any of you mistreated me, nor did I ever proactively mention what happened within the
team.
“If you have not lost your memory, why not rethink how each of these incidents happened? Was it
plagiarism, the thesis issue, or even the slander incident that just happened?
“Why is it that you openly accuse me again and again, but I am not allowed to fight back?
“There are matters I have not discussed with you seriously before. Today, for the first and last time, I am telling you.
“First. I did not commit plagiarism. The paper published in an authoritative medical journal is entirely my original work. From the very first word, I independently developed and revised the manuscript until its publication, without any guidance from a supervisor at any stage.
“Second. I closely monitored each of more than two hundred of my experiments from the beginning. From taking notes to the final summary paper, I completed every step independently, without relying on my seniors.
“Third. I joined your team purely on my genuine ability. I have never had any romantic or flirtatious
relationship with any of your students, nor with you. I believe I do not need to provide proof of this.
“Fourth. After thorough consideration, I chose to join Professor Delilah’s team because I am confident
that this field will enable me to graduate smoothly. There is absolutely no intention of retaliating against you, so please do not overthink this.
“Fifth. Whether it is the competition we have just won or my achievements over the past several years, all were attained through my own intellect and knowledge. I would never cheat on things like this.
“Based on the five points I mentioned, you are in no position to criticize me. The person who subjected you to criticism, who escalated matters to the point of mutual destruction, and who even ruined Kyle is not me.”
After Josie finished speaking, she let out a mocking laugh. “You know, I have never expected you to
