Medications were unavailable on site; a hospital visit was needed. Josie glanced at the people around her, feeling somewhat anxious.

“Let us accompany them to the hospital later. Everyone says I’m responsible for Mr. Smith’s condition, and I won’t feel at ease until I see him regain consciousness,” Josie said.

Neither Delilah nor Sean was a fool. They quickly understood Josie’s concerns.

“I think everyone should stop talking nonsense. If you want to save him, step aside immediately. If we keep delaying, it’s not that acupuncture can’t save him, but you’re the one trying to kill him!” Sean said.

“Everyone, please make way… A voice was heard behind the crowd.

It was the family member who had accompanied Lonnard to the event. He came upon hearing the news. As he approached Lonnard, he saw Josie supporting him, with Sean and Delilah standing protectively before

him.

His expression grew noticeably more serious. “Ms. Wilcourt, would you and your companions please accompany us to the hospital?” he asked.

Audrey and Natalie stood at the back of the crowd, accompanied by David.

“David, what do you think about this?” Audrey asked.

David snorted softly. “The Reedshaws like to act tough. Given Lonnard’s age and physical condition, he’ll most probably not ever wake up again. Even if he does, he’ll probably be unable to take care of himself.

“Now that she has provoked the Longley family, no one can save her this time,” he said.

Upon hearing this, Natalie’s expression brightened. “Speaking of which, the person to blame most is Josie.
