Professor Lawson said, visibly excited, “Quickly, follow the car ahead. We are going to meet Mr. Nelson!
“To be honest, when I was still a student, I was fortunate enough to have received guidance. from Mr. Nelson.”
He grasped Audrey’s hand and added, “Audrey, our opportunity has arrived.
“Previously, I submitted several research proposals to Professor Longley, all of which were rejected. However, Mr. Nelson is different…”
“Alright, alright, he’s different!” Audrey said, her face full of amusement
“I am aware of your dedication to academic pursuits and your commitment to contributing to our country’s medical research endeavors.
“Rest assured, regardless of what you wish to pursue, I will provide you with my full support.”
Natalie looked at their clasped hands, sensing that something was not quite right.
However, she did not dwell on it, simply attributing Professor Lawson’s loss of composure to a moment of excitement, as she was also in quite good spirits.
Natalie recalled that Lonnard was gone, and Josie could not escape responsibility. She almost wanted to burst out laughing.
She thought, ‘Josie, just wait. The Longley family will never let you off, and neither will I.
‘Once the Longley family is done with you, I’ll have a big surprise waiting for you!
“When the time comes…
Whenever Natalie thought of the wretched, pitiful sight of Josie kneeling at her feet, a fleeting sense of satisfaction flashed through her heart,
She could hardly wait to see Josie begging for mercy,
However, just after their car had left the hospital, Josie and her group exited the hospital building.
Seeing more and more reporters approaching, Sean pulled the group back a few steps and said, “Wait here. I will get the car.”
Unfortunately, there were simply too many reporters. Even though Sean’s car arrived

A reporter asked, “Professor Wilcourt, may I ask about Mr. Longley’s current condition?”
Another said, “I heard that the person who helped was your student. Do you have anything to say about this?”
Someone else asked, “Is acupuncture truly applicable in on–site emergency care? Could it have the opposite effect?”
Delilah pushed Claire and Josie into the car. “Ignore it. Get in quickly,” she said.
Josie scrambled to the car. “Please get in, Professor Wilcourt.”
Josie pulled Delilah into the car, then glanced at the array of cameras with long and short lenses pointed at her.
She said, “Acupuncture can save lives. Traditional Chinese medicine has never been inferior to modern medicine.
“Their approaches may differ, but their objectives have always been the same.
After blurted out those words, she slammed the car door shut.
It was only after the car had been on the road for quite some time that Delilah looked at her with a furrowed brow and said, “Why did you bother responding to those reporters?
“With just one remark, you have no idea what they might distort and publish.”

“Professor Wilcourt!” Josie knew that Delilah would get angry, but she did not regret it.
She continued, “There has long been a public misunderstanding about practitioners of traditional medicine,
“Many people believe that acupuncture is merely a fictional plot device invented in novels and cannot actually save lives.
“Perhaps some charlatans do use such methods to deceive people, but the Reedshaw Acupuncture Technique is clearly not like that.
“Why can’t we explain ourselves? Why can’t we let everyone understand what we do?
Delilah’s expression darkened. “What do you know?
“You have studied traditional medicine for only a few days, and studied acupuncture for just as many days.

“Are you aware of how scary public opinion can be? Such public discourse will inevitably cause great harm or even kill someone eventually.
“Physicians from the Reedshaw family have always been dedicated to treating and saving lives with diligence. We do not want such publicity. There is absolutely no need for that,
either.
“If you still wish to continue learning acupuncture from me, do not do these things without my permission in the future.”
“But…” Josie does not understand.
Claire held her back and said, “Enough, stop talking. Just do as my mother instructs you. Don’t you want to learn acupuncture?”
A single sentence rendered Josie silent.
Josie thought, ‘This whole time, hasn’t Professor Wilcourt suffered repeated setbacks in her confrontations with Professor Lawson precisely because of the influence of public opinion?
Are Professor Lawson’s academic achievements truly superior to those of the Reedshaw family?
