As soon as she left. Delilah looked up and asked, “Why do you keep teasing her? If you truly like her, pursue her properly!

Sean shook his head. “It’s not the right time yet.”

He retrieved a document from his bag. “Starting tomorrow, I’ll reduce my time at the lab. Once you recruit new people. I’ll step back completely. Here’s the internship form; just sign it when the time comes.”

“You need this?” Delilah frowned, pushing the form aside. “Have you really thought this through? You’re going to help Elliot instead of me?”

Sean looked exasperated. “Delilah, be reasonable. How is that helping him instead of you? If that were the case, I wouldn’t have studied acupuncture in the first place.”

“What do you mean?” Delilah said, displeased. “You chose to let go at such a critical moment. Isn’t that just not helping me?”

“To be honest, you have plenty of support now, especially with Josie. She fits the requirements for our family’s final disciple perfectly. But Elliot… Sean’s brow furrowed. “Grandma is practically sick with worry over it. Grandpa passed away with regrets. I can’t let Grandma remain uneasy. I want to find out the reason.”

At the mention of Elliot, Delilah’s expression darkened. “That reason won’t be easy to uncover. Be careful. He’s stubborn.”

Sean rarely laughed like this. ‘Grandma says you’re the most stubborn one in the family. But truthfully, Dad, Dolores, and you are all stubborn.”

“Hey, watch your tone. I’m your aunt!” Delilah stood up to shoo him out.

Scan left, still laughing. “Alright, alright. Why am I not even allowed to comment on it?”

Delilah smiled wryly. Once the door closed, her smile gradually faded. Every single one of them in the family was stubborn.

Once they set their minds on a goal, they never gave up until they achieved it.

The matter from over twenty years ago remains unresolved.

All of them held a grudge deep down.

Waiting in the hallway, Josie felt restless and awkward. Her heart was in turmoil.

Finally, she simply took out a book and squatted on the floor to read.

Natalie rolled her eyes in frustration and snatched the book from Josie’s hands. “Stop pretending. Squatting here ding? Is it to make all the passing professors praise you for being diligent? Josie, you’re such an actress. I never realized you were this type of person before.”

Reading had been the last thing on Josie’s mind regarding making an impression.

“Fine. I’ll stop then.” She grabbed her book back, stuffed it into her bag, and looked up to find Natalie still standing there, clearly not leaving. “Was there something else?*

Josie found Natalie so thoroughly detestable that she had no desire to speak at all.

Especially when she thought about how, in her past life, Natalie had taken everything that rightfully belonged to her simply for being David’s daughter, the disgust surged straight to her head.

It took immense self–control not to slap Natalic twice.

As things stood, Josie didn’t yet have the power to plunge Natalie into ruin, nor could she drive David out of the medical field.

Petty conflicts would only drain her energy and affect her mood. She didn’t want this nuisance disrupting her rhythm. Ignoring her was the best approach.

She needed to grow stronger enough to stomp Natalie deep into the mud, ensuring she could never climb out again!!
