She said, “I heard from Professor Delilah that the Longley family’s third daughter, Eleanor, has been abroad for many years and hasn’t come back. If it weren’t for Lonnard, she might never have returned. Is that true?”
Sean nodded. “There was a period when she even considered taking Lonnard abroad. If Xandrov had not intervened, Lonnard probably would have stepped down as director of the National Medical Research Institute long ago.
Josie asked, “Do you think Lonnard’s request for Patti to take on a disciple might have been intended to bring Eleanor back? Could Eleanor’s years of absence also be related to the Reedshaw family?*
The more Josie thought about it, the more she believed it. “It’s hard to leave one’s homeland. Lonnard probably doesn’t want to leave Aloville, but he misses his youngest daughter, so he came up with this method.
“Perhaps Patti was also fond of Eleanor, and so she was willing to accept her as a disciple, isn’t that so?”
“Are you very curious?” Sean leaned in slightly, his beautiful eyes fixed unwaveringly on her.
Josie’s heartbeat sped up uncontrollably again.
Why hadn’t she noticed before how attractive Sean was?
“Aren’t you curious?” Josie forced down that flutter of emotion. Instead of pushing him away in a panic, she blinked her large, watery eyes and stared back at him.
‘I heard from Claire that Eleanor is exceptionally beautiful and has never married. It makes me think of Elliot. They should be around the same age, right? It feels like their lives are full of stories. Isn’t it normal to be curious?”
Sean couldn’t help but reach out and pinch her cheek. “You little gossipmonger, prying into your elders” private matters is not a good habit. You’d better change that!”
Josie pursed her lips and said, “How can this be prying? This is concern! Concern, understand? Like for Patti, Elliot, Professor Delilah… Don’t think just because they’re doctors, they don’t need people to worry about their health. Since they’re family, we should show the proper concern.”
Afraid she sounded too deliberate, she added emphatically, “Yes, that’s it! So, Sean, you should care more about the elders. Every detail, from their mood to their health. Understand?”
It sounded logical and reasonable. But Sean was sharp. He could tell at a glance that she was up to something!
But he still couldn’t figure out exactly what it was. After thinking left and right, a guess suddenly occurred to him. “I remember your roommate…. she’s interning at Reedshaw Group, right? The General Manager’s Office? She must see Elliot often. Did she
say something to you?”
‘Oh my goodness, how perceptive he is!‘ Josie was startled, so frightened that she wanted to run.
She said, “No, really, no. Don’t overthink it. I was just saying. If you don’t want to care, then don’t. I’ll take on this duty!”

She was so flustered that she had no idea what she was saying.

“Josie, are you going to fulfill my duties for me? Sean smiled, his eyes full of amusement, as he looked at Josie leisurely.
Josie’s face flushed bright red with embarrassment. What did I just say?‘
It made it seem like there was something going on between her and him.
Even though deep down, she kinda wished there was, reality told her it was absolutely impossible. She needed to stop this before she got in too deep.
Josie silently repeated ‘Impossible twice, and only then did she say seriously, Tm your little sister, you know. It’s not like I can’t help you out, but I’m just worried that everyone will end up liking me more than you. If that happens, don’t get mad at me!”
Sean felt a little down. “Well, I won’t be mad. I like you too!
“Huh?‘ Josie was almost dumbfounded and sluggishly raised her head. ‘You… what did you say?”
Did it mean what she thought it meant?
Josie’s hands trembled with excitement.
“You little fool!” Sean’s hand was still holding hers. Sensing her trembling, he could not help but sigh inwardly. He’d still ended up scaring
But he really couldn’t hold back anymore!
He ruffled her hair, his expression serious. “Didn’t you say they all like you? So, I like you too.”
