Thirty minutes in, Freya spotted a sleek black Rolls Royce zooming up, did a sick drift, and skidded to a halt. right at the entrance of the Wesley Hotel.

The valet wandered over, asking if he needed a hand parking the ride, as per usual.

But Liam shoved the car door open and bolted straight into the hotel, giving zero fucks.

“Decision made?” Ryan asked.

Freya nodded. “Yeah, ain’t gonna see him.”

There was no point. Just more bickering, and that mess ain’t gettin’ sorted out through yelling.

Ryan tossed his jacket over Freya’s head and swept her up in his arms.

Freya suddenly felt light as a feather, her feet leaving the ground.

She reflexively hooked an arm around his shoulder to keep from tumbling.

Ryan gave her a little bounce. “Lookin’ stacked, but you’re as light as a feather.”

He was carrying her out of the office when, in the elevator, they bumped into Liam-looking furious and clearly there to grab her.

“Ryan?” Liam was caught off guard seeing him here. “You stayin’ here too?”

Ryan smirked sideways. “Tagging along with her.”

Freya was hidden under the suit jacket, all dark and clueless about the outside world.

But she could tell Ryan was resting his forehead against hers.

It felt real couple-y, kinda.

Liam steadied himself, asking, “What’s up with your girl?”

“Shy, doesn’t wanna be seen,” Ryan explained.

Liam said, “We’re bros, gotta meet eventually. No need to be shy about it.”

“Guess it’s… not convenient right now.” Ryan’s tone was oozing with innuendo. It was almost like he was hinting at something juicy that had just gone down.

Unable to hold back her anger, Freya gave him a sharp poke in the waist.

Ryan gasped dramatically and shot her a look that was both fond and threatening. “You might not wanna test me right now… unless you’re okay with making a scene in this elevator.”

Freya flinched and instantly went still, not moving an inch. She held on to him tightly, hiding her face against

his chest.

Liam chimed in to Ryan, “Take it easy on her, man. She’s shy. No need to frighten her.””

Ryan snorted, “She’s no ordinary girl, always fierce and feisty. If I don’t scare her now, I’ll suffer later.”
