Freya was shocked. “What’s gotten into you…”
:
“Me? I should’ve gone crazy ages ago!” Ryan cursed under his breath.
It was the first time Freya had seen Ryan lose his temper.

Even when they used to bicker and clash at every meeting, he was always grinning, never like this.
It was a bit scary.
Freya had never thought of him in a romantic way, but now she suddenly realized-when a guy got angry, it really was a little terrifying.
Ryan must’ve noticed he lost his cool. After a couple of deep breaths, he forced himself to calm down, then finally drove off-still visibly tense.
Freya asked softly, “Where are you taking me?”
“My place.”
“What?!”
“Any hotel you stay at in Sairo, Liam can crash at your door in seconds.”
Freya thought about it and realized he was right.
With his power and influence, as soon as she checked in, Liam would know immediately.
Ryan added, “If you really don’t want to see him, stay at my place for a few days.”
“What about you? You staying home too?”
Ryan rolled his eyes. “There’s a guest room. I’m not that desperate.”
Freya rolled her eyes back. “I remember you said in the elevator that I looked pretty good. Well, can’t be too careful.”
“All beauty is vanity,”
“I have both looks and a figure, how am I vanity?”
“Just a tiny bit better than vanity.”
Ryan’s apartment in Sairo was a river-view flat with 270-degree views, even overlooking the estuary in the distance.
The sea was vast and majestic, the setting sun’s rays like gold dust sprinkled across it-the location really was top-notch.

Now, Freya really believed he was the young boss of the Wisely Hotel. After all, how could a lawyer afford a house in such a prime location and of this quality just by earning commission from lawsuits? Not in ten lifetimes.
Ryan said, “I’ll take the master bedroom, and you can stay in the guest room. If you’re not at ease, you can lock your door from the inside at night.”
Freya was skeptical. “Yeah, right. Since when are you so nice?”
Ryan went to the bar, making himself a cup of coffee. “Want one?”
Freya shook her head.
He took a small sip, adding, “I’m not that nice, actually. You can stay at my place, but You have to pay rent.”
That seemed reasonable.
Freya asked, “How much?”
Ryan frowned, thinking for a moment. “Ten thousand a day.”
“That’s highway robbery!”
you can’t stay for free.
