Liam smiled faintly, but the smile had a sharp edge. “Shy, or is there no such person at all?”

Ryan’s hand holding his glass froze for a moment. “What do you mean?” he asked.

Liam hooked the black heel on the floor with his finger. “I found something interesting. When I saw you with your girl in the elevator today, the heels she wore were exactly the same as Freya’s.”

Ryan kept drinking as if nothing were wrong, took a sip, and squinted with a smile. “What’s so strange? Women’s heels come in only a few styles. It’s probably just a coincidence.”

“Really?” Liam said with relish.

Ryan suddenly turned his eyes to Freya. “Mrs. Grant, have a drink with me?”

Freya looked disgusted. “Get lost.”

Ryan said to Liam, “See that? She won’t even have a drink with me. You expect her to let me hold her? Don’t you know her temper? She’d have punched me in the face already.”

After saying that, Ryan acted like nothing had happened and continued drinking.

“I saw the trending topic,” Ryan said. “I already had someone start taking it down. Still, think about it. On one hand you have your wife, kids, and a warm home. On the other is a stubborn little tough nut. Choose wisely.”

Freya snapped, “You’re the stubborn one. Your whole family is stubborn.”

Ryan shot back, “Look at you now. If you’re not a stubborn one, who is?”

Liam said, “Okay, can you two get along for five minutes?”
