“We’ve also assigned special forces around the area for emergencies. Mr. Grant, did you have a fight with your wife? How did things get so bad that she’s thinking of suicide?”
Liam was frantic. “It’s all my fault. I’ve let her down. Sir, can you let me go up and say a few words to her?”
“Alright, come with me,” said the policeman.
Liam was escorted into the elevator and taken to the top floor of the Skaros Building.
A woman in a white dress stood alone in the farthest corner of the rooftop, looking lost and isolated.
She faced away from everyone, the cold night wind tossing her hair and skirt high into the air, as if she might be swept away at any moment.
Watching her teeter on the edge, Liam felt his heart shatter.
He cried out, his voice breaking. “I was wrong, Freya! I was wrong! Hit me, yell at me, punish me however you want–bur please come back, please.”
The woman heard his voice but didn’t seem intent on turning around.
Instead, she took a small step forward, lifting one foot–just below was the endless rush of traffic.
Skaros Building had 100 floors. If she fell from here, there was almost no chance of survival.
“Freya, don’t!” Liam rushed forward, but several negotiators stopped him.
“Mr. Grant, is that woman your wife?” asked one of the negotiators.
Liam said, “Yes, she’s my wife.”
“Did she attempt suicide because of relationship problems?”
“Yes.” Liam shouted angrily, “Please save her. Please!”
“We need to know why she chose to give up on life before we can offer targeted advice. Mr. Grant, can you tell us the fundamental reason for reaching this point?”
“It’s…” Liam gritted his teeth. “I cheated.”
The negotiators glanced at each other, and a few even showed expressions of “I knew it.”
They had handled many suicide cases.
When men committed suicide by jumping, it was usually because of career setbacks or financial issues.
When women committed suicide by jumping, it was mostly due to relationship problems.
“Mr. Grant, the only way to win your wife back now is to make a public promise to cut all ties with other women.”
“Of course!” Liam responded immediately, “I’ve already handled everything. I won’t see Natalie again. I only love her…”
Before he finished speaking, the woman in the white dress turned around and called out, “Lammy.”

Chapter 92
Liam’s eyes widened in shock. “How can it be you? Weren’t you in Haventon preparing for an abortion…”
Natalie gave a bitter smile. “The first thing you ask me when we meet is why I didn’t get the abortion?”
Liam asked angrily, “Where’s Freya?”
Natalie said, “I don’t know. I just wanted to find the highest place to end my life. I don’t know where Freya is.”
