Chapter 95
As they talked, a commotion erupted at the entrance of the Skaros Building.
A group of security guards filed out first, followed by a swarm of reporters carrying cameras and equipment.
Then came the police, firefighters, and negotiation experts.
Finally, in the center, surrounded by a group of security guards, was a couple–a man and a woman.
Natalie still had tears on her face, while Liam was carrying her in his arms.
“They’re out!” The crowd surged forward all at once.
Only Freya and Ryan remained standing where they were.

The three dogs seemed to sense their owners‘ mood. They sat quietly, pressed against Freya’s leg, without causing any
trouble.
There was a hint of warmth.
A black sedan slowly stopped by the roadside. Jason opened the car door and ran over, guarding Liam and Natalie, helping the police clear the way.
As the group passed by, the crowd jostled Freya, and Ryan quickly caught her.
He simply wrapped his arm around the back of her head, pressing her face against his chest.
“Don’t look,” he said.
The crowd was noisy all around. Ryan held her tightly against his chest, and all she could see were the subtle patterns on his shirt fabric.
She heard Liam’s voice.
“Please make way, thank you.”
The police also helped disperse the crowd. “Mrs. Grant needs to get to the hospital for an examination as soon as possible. Please don’t block the exit. Thank you for your cooperation.”
The voice approached, then gradually faded away.
After a long time, Freya finally asked, “Have they left?”
“Not yet,” Ryan said. “This road is jammed with cars stopped to watch the commotion. Liam’s car can’t get out, so the mounted police have gone ahead to direct traffic.”
“Where is their car?” Freya asked.
“It’s right next to us,” Ryan replied.
Freya instinctively grabbed Ryan’s shirt at his waist.
Feeling a slight tension around his waist, Ryan gently stroked her hair and said, “It’s Okay. I’m blocking you, so he can’t see you.”

A few minutes later, the road was finally cleared.
She heard the roar of the engine fade away until it was gone.
She gently let go of the fabric in her hands and stepped back, putting some distance between herself and Ryan.
Ryan looked down at her face and said softly, “I thought you would cry.”
Freya shook her head. “I’m not crying. It’s not my loss; it’s his. Why should I cry?”
Ryan nodded. “That’s right. He lost a good woman. He’s the one who should be crying.”
On the way back, Ryan didn’t drive.
It wasn’t far from here to the Wesley Hotel, and he also wanted Freya to have a walk and clear her mind.
When Ryan returned to the hotel, Claire was already in the lobby.
“Mr. Ryan, just now at the Skaros Building…”
Ryan said, “We were right there on site.”
